Four crosses in draw
McNeil generated one shot (zero on goal), four crosses (zero accurate) and one corner in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Burnley.
Impact
After starting the previous match on the right wing in place of Iliman Ndiaye, who is away at AFCON, McNeil made another start but operated on the left with Jack Grealish (illness) unavailable, freeing Tyler Dibbiling to play on the right. He attempted one shot, produced a season-high four tackles, created one chance and delivered four crosses, marking back-to-back matches with four crosses while taking one corner in each game.

Starts in Cup
McNeil got the start during Wednesday's Carabao Cup clash with Mansfield Town.
Impact
McNeil has been on the bench for the first two Premier League matches, but got the start for the Carabao Cup match. He had a quiet day before coming off, and seems truly relegated to a depth role. McNeil was excellent before his injury last season, but poor form when he returned seems to have knocked him down the pecking order.

Incredible prior to injury
McNeil scored four goals and added six assists in 21 appearances (15 starts) in the Premier League.
Impact
McNeil was one of the best creative midfielders in the Premier League prior to his knee injuries that lingered through most of the season. The attacking midfielder was then shut down for three months to try and recover. In the end he was a depth option for the closing stages of the season, making two starts in the final eight matches, though adding four goal contributions in that span. When fully fit McNeil should have plenty of upside, especially if he can overcome the nagging knee issue.

Logs another assist
McNeil assisted once to go with seven crosses (two accurate) and three corners in Sunday's 2-0 victory over Southampton.
Impact
McNeil's vision has been on point, most recently demonstrated with a through ball that both fooled at least two of Southampton's defenders and went to Iliman Ndiaye. The beautiful pass is one Ndiaye took advantage of his second goal Sunday, which gives McNeil an assist in back-to-back games. Going back even further, McNeil has one goal and three assists across his last six appearances, directly contributing to a goal more times than not.

Delivers assist from corner
McNeil assisted once to go with one cross (one accurate) and one corner in Saturday's 3-1 win against Fulham.
Impact
McNeil provided the assist for Michael Keane's goal with a well-placed corner to the back post. His delivery was precise and allowed Keane to head home unchallenged. McNeil's set-piece proficiency added a crucial dimension to Everton's attack after coming off the bench. He made a good impact to record his second goal contribution in the last two games and will look to add a third in a row against Southampton on Sunday.

Starts and scores
McNeil scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal), five crosses (one accurate) and two corners in Saturday's 2-2 draw versus Ipswich Town.
Impact
McNeil had been eased into Everton's rotation following his return from a knee injury, and Saturday marked his first start since Dec. 4. The decision to start McNeil proved worthwhile, considering he was the one who scored Everton's second and draw-confirming goal this weekend. Even with a long-term knee injury, McNeil will finish this season with four goals, which is more than his three from the 2023-24 Premier League.

Assist off bench
McNeil assisted once to go with zero corners and one chance created in Saturday's 1-0 victory against Nottingham Forest.
Impact
Because of the fact that McNeil was not fit enough to start, Everton used him as a last-minute sub against Nottingham Forest. The limited role did not stop him from making a significant impact, as his assist to Abdoulaye Doucoure helped Everton log an upset win. The assist marks McNeil's fourth this season, and he is expected to re-enter Everton's starting XI more regularly once able.

Not fit enough to start
McNeil is still not fit enough to be named in the starting XI, coach David Moyes said in the press conference.
Impact
McNeil returned from a long-term knee injury in Saturday's match against Arsenal and played three minutes. He still needs to build fitness gradually over the next few games before being ready for a starting role. In the meantime, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Carlos Alcaraz are seeing increased playing time in the front line.

Available against Arsenal
McNeil (knee) is a bench option for Saturday's tilt versus Arsenal.
Impact

Returns to training
McNeil (knee) returned to training Friday ahead of a Wednesday clash with Liverpool.
Impact
McNeil was back in team training and seems to be on pace to return after the international break. This knee injury has been a nagging concern for McNeil throughout the season, but the international break seems to have given him more of an extended chance to get fit.

Impact
McNeil is nearing the playing field again, as he has been working on his rehabilitation and is now eyeing a return following the international break. This is good news for the attacker as he has missed a solid chuck of time, last playing Dec. 4. There is a chance he won't be ready immediately after the break, although he should return in April.

Impact
McNeil has finally received a timeline for a return after receiving minor knee surgery. However, it didn't seem to be a confident answer, as it appears he could potentially be on either side of that return date and be back before or after six weeks. Still, this is a step in the right direction for the midfielder as he looks to return this season.

Impact
McNeil has picked up the option to receive a minor surgery on his knee, with the attacker going through with the operation this week. This will likely leave him out for at least another month, probably not having a chance of returning until at least March. This continues to be a tough blow for the attacker, as he has already nine matches due to the injury, last appearing against Wolves on Dec. 4.

Impact
McNeil received a not-so-positive update Friday, as the attacker looks to be facing surgery after a spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury. He is still undergoing further assessment though, with this not yet confirmed. He will hope for better news than what is likely ahead, but if he were to require surgery, the attacker will likely not return this season.

Won't face Villa
McNeil (knee) is out for Wednesday's match against Aston Villa, according to manager David Moyes.
Impact
McNeil will remain out for another game, missing his seventh straight match due to a knee injury. It is unclear how close he is to a return, as he seemingly just keeps being placed back further and further in his recovery. That said, he will look to see the field again soon, although he will have to train to make that come to fruition.

Impact
McNeil will continue on the sidelines, unable to recover from his knee injury for a sixth consecutive match. However, he does look to be nearing a return, as his manager did claim it was settling down and he just needs to pass the final stages of recovery. That said, if he isn't an option Saturday, a return against Peterborough in FA Cup action on Thursday could be a possibility.
