Impact Van der Kust made his senior Houston debut Wednesday after joining the club on-loan from FC Utrecht in February. The 22-year-old has featured three times for the reserve team in MLS NEXT Pro and seems to be behind Franco Escobar and Brad Smith in the left-back depth chart.

Loaned to Houston Van der Kust has joined the Dynamo on a season-long loan from FC Utrecht, the club announced Thursday.

Impact Van der Kust has made 20 Eredivisie appearances for Utrecht across the last 18 months, and the 21-year-old is now joining MLS for the 2023 campaign. He will challenge Brad Smith (knee) and Sam Junqua for the starting left-back spot in Houston.
