Potential option Leite (thigh) is back in training and is a potential option for Saturday's match against Bayern Munich, according to manager Steffan Buamgart.

Impact Leite was back in training this week, and this is about to lead to his return, with the defender potentially cleared for play. This is huge news for the defender, as he last appeared in January, nearly missing two months of action. He is a regular starter when fit, so this is a major return if it comes to fruition, likely sending Stanley Nsoki back to a rotational spot.

Training with team Leite (thigh) was pictured in practice with the squad Tuesday after making progress in his recovery from injury.

Impact Leite is expected to return to action after the international break, likely missing all of February and March due to his thigh issue. As soon as he's ready to start, the center-back will aim to be selected over Stanley Nsoki, giving the team a boost in terms of possession and defensive skill, given that Leite's averages of 5.9 clearances and 1.6 interceptions per game are both still among the top two on the squad.

Out four to six weeks Leite (thigh) is out the next four to six weeks due to a thigh injury, according to Jannis Limburg of Kicker.

Impact Leite had gown down with a thigh injury two games ago that will force him to the sidelines. He will now miss over a month of action, due to the injury, with a return to be slated in March for the defender. He has been a regular starter this season, only missing four starts all season until the injury, with Stanley Nsoki set to see more time due to his absence.

Own goal Saturday Leite recorded an own goal and one shot (zero on goal) in Saturday's 3-1 loss versus Hoffenheim. He was injured and subbed out in the 75th minute.

Impact Leite was unfortunately responsible for one of Hoffenheim's goals Saturday, with the defender hitting an own goal in the 47th minute. However, he would add three interceptions, two tackles won and a clearance, a decent day in the defense outside of the error.

Quiet for draw Leite registered one shot (zero on goal) and one chance created in Sunday's 1-1 draw against VfB Stuttgart.

Impact Leite created a chance and took a shot during Sunday's draw, just missing out on a clean sheet. Leite is a very defensive center-back, with limited chances to roam forward. That limits any occasional offensive upside he offers and a mixed midfield unit means he doesn't pile on the clean sheets either.

Starting against Frankfurt Leite (not injury related) is in the starting XI for Sunday's match against Frankfurt.

Impact Leite is back with the team after some transfer rumors to begin the season halted his play with the club, immediately earning a start in his season debut. He will look to remain in this role moving forward, starting in 29 of his 30 appearances last season.

Impact Leite missed the beginning of the season due to a potential transfer during the summer and has trained with the team since then. Out to start season Liete (undisclosed) is out for Saturday's match against Stuttgart due to an injury, according to manager Steffen Baumgart.

That said, Derrick Kohn or Tom Rothe could be possible replacements until he is fit again.

Features in friendly Leite (neck) started in a friendly against LASK, according to his club.

Impact Leite ended last season injured but has shaken off his worries heading into the new season, with the defender appearing in a friendly. He was a regular sight on the field last season with his 29 starts in 30 appearances, so this is good news for the defender. That said, he will likely head into the season into a similar role now that he is fit.

JULY 19, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Sidelined for rest of season Leite will be sidelined for the remainder of the season after suffering a blow to his Larynx in their last outing, Paul Gorgas of Bild.de reports.

Impact Leite is not going to feature again this season, with the defender suffering a concerning injury last time out. The good news is that the blow to the neck has been played down, as the club revealed testing showed no permanent damage. That said, he was back at training Tuesday, although he only watched as the club took the cautious route. The idea is he will be fit for next season, and in most cases, he is doing fine; the club just does not want to risk a serious turn to his injury if he were to take the field again this campaign.
