Finishes on bench Jota scored 10 goals and added three assists during 21 appearances (14 starts.)
Impact Jota's role was limited by injury and form but he still reached double-digit goals for the second time in his career. With Liverpool set for a new manager in Arne Slot it's likely there will be a full battle for the starting striker role, leaving Jota's role for the future uncertain.

Back on bench Jota (undisclosed) is on the bench for Sunday's clash with Wolves.
Impact Jota returns to the bench for the Premier League finale. The striker was plagued by injuries throughout the second half of the season and is only fit enough for the bench. With Darwin Nunez out of form it's Cody Gakpo that leads the line for the finale.

Not yet training Jota (undisclosed) isn't training ahead of Sunday's clash with Tottenham, according to manager Jurgen Klopp."Diogo is not in team training yet."
Impact Jota suffered the ankle injury against Fulham and is now in doubt for the remainder of the season as he has yet to get back in training. The forward would be a significant loss, though Liverpool don't have much left to play for, as they are well and truly out of the title race but secure in the Champions League.

Impact Jota is now set for another tenure on the sidelines after just returning from an eight-match absence four games ago, as he is now dealing with an undisclosed issue that will leave him out for two weeks. This is a tough blow for the forward, as he just earned his first start since recovering from his previous issues, with Darwin Nunez most likely reclaiming the starting spot at striker now that Jota is out. He is now set for a return for the May 5 match against Tottenham or the May 13 game against Aston Villa, looking to avoid setbacks and make a clean return before the conclusion of the season.

Nets Sunday Jota scored one goal to go with three shots (two on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Sunday's 3-1 win against Fulham.
Impact Jota was right back among the goals during Sunday's win, putting together a nice showing during the rout. The striker is just trying to find some form after coming back from injury. Jota will hope to keep this form going, especially with Darwin Nunez struggling for form, potentially opening a spot in the starting XI.

Quiet off bench Jota (knee) came off the bench for the final 15 minutes of Thursday's 3-0 loss to Atalanta.
Impact Jota made his return, as expected during Thursday's clash, coming off the bench to chase the game in the second half. The forward was unable to make a big difference, though he had a few decent moments. Jota will hope to find some more form as he gets fit in the closing stages of the Premier League.

Possible for return Jota (knee) could return to action against Atalanta on Thursday, as manager Jurgen Klopp told reporters, "So, obviously we didn't rush it with the boys. You can but we didn't, that...
Impact Jota saw a huge boost this week after seeing a return to full training Tuesday, giving slight confidence he could return Thursday. This comes after the forward has missed the club's past eight matches due to a knee issue, only playing seven times since Nov. 30 due to two separate injuries. It appears he is still in heavy doubt for the game, so even if he is selected, only expect the player to be on the bench, most likely gaining time to test his legs but not seeing more than a couple of minutes on the field.

Impact Jota will still have to wait another week or two for a return, as he is yet to recover from his knee issues and join team training. However, he is not completely training alone, as he is getting work in with other injured players and is set to return to full team training by next week. With that being said, he will eye a return for either of the matches against Atalanta on April 11 or Crystal Palace on April 14, hoping to pick up no setbacks between now and then, as he will want to be fit for the end of the campaign.

Impact Jota was originally expected to be sidelined until mid-April but he now has a chance to return after the international break. Still that's only a chance and his recovery during the break will go a long way towards indicating his status for a March 31 clash with Brighton.

Jota out for months, says Klopp, as Liverpool's injury crisis deepens

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says forward Diogo Jota will be missing for months because of injury
FEBRUARY 20, 2024 • Associated Press
Knee issue confirmed Jota had his knee injury confirmed by the club Tuesday, as manager Jurgen Klopp stated, "Then we have Diogo with a knee issue, is ruled out.
Impact Jota was already presumed to have a knee injury from multiple sources, but that has finally been confirmed by the club after his early exit against Brentford on Saturday. The forward is now expected to miss most of the remainder of the season after being viewed in a leg brace leaving the stadium, but will still hope to return for the tail end of the campaign. He has started in the club's past five contests, so his absence will take effect, with Cody Gakpo most likely taking over most of his minutes while he is out.

Impact Jota was hurt during the first half of Saturday's 4-1 win over Brentford when Christian Norgaard landed awkwardly on the forward, and the Portugal forward was seen in a knee brace after the match. As things stand now, Jota will miss most of the stretch run of the 2023-24 campaign, but the winger is hopeful he'll be able to see some minutes before the end of the season, which also signals the end of the Jurgen Klopp era at Anfield.

Nets in win Jota scored one goal to go with six shots (three on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 3-1 win versus Burnley.
Impact Jota got yet another start on the right wing and put together another strong showing. The striker has filled in admirably in the absence of Mohamed Salah (hamstring), though it's not clear if Jota will remain in the starting XI when Salah returns. One possibility is that Jota switches to the left wing to fill in for Luis Diaz, who has been inconsistent since getting back into the first team.

Opens scoring Jota scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and one chance created in Wednesday's 4-1 victory versus Chelsea.
Impact Jota opened the scoring during the first half of Wednesday's win, pushing through two defenders before prodding home. The striker isn't as much of a creative threat as Darwin Nunez or Luis Diaz, but Jota is perhaps the best pure goalscorer in the Liverpool XI. Jota will continue to see major minutes while Mohamed Salah (hamstring) recovers.
