Will retire after 2024 season McCarty is set to retire from professional football following the conclusion of the 2024 season.
Impact McCarty is making the choice to step back from professional play after a long career with a variety of MLS sides following the end of the season. His final team will be with Atlanta, where he made 15 appearances (eight starts). He's spent his entire career in MLS, starting off his career with FC Dallas. A veteran in the league, the defender will end his career with two Supporters' Shield titles, two time MLS All Star and a Western Conference title. McCarty also made 13 caps with the USMNT, winning the CONCACAF Gold Cup back in 2017.
