Contract negotiations ongoing Owusu's contract with the Whitecaps has run out but the club is still in talks with the player and have until Nov. 14 to make a decision about his future.

Impact Owusu made 19 MLS appearances (10 starts) this season for Vancouver but the arrivals of Andres Cubas and Alessandro Schopf pushed him down the depth chart a bit. If no new deal is agreed upon by the November deadline then the 25-year-old would enter free agency.

Impact Owusu created two chances and was busy throughout Saturday's draw, on both sides of the ball. While he lined up in central midfield Owusu did get forward frequently to try and break the deadlock. Look for him to maintain his offensive footing against Houston on Saturday.

Impact Owusu became a mainstay in the Whitecaps' lineup from August onward, starting 15 of the last 18 games of the season. The return of Caio Alexandre (foot), whom Owusu replaced in the XI when Alexandre went down with a foot injury, will bring added competition in midfield next year.

Impact Owusu started his third straight match in the win Saturday and until then he did not quite deserve the chance. The midfielder had a significant role on set-pieces that gave him a solid floor starting out and he also managed to take a great chance on net. The only unfortunate part of his performance is all four of his crosses came from set-pieces. Otherwise, it was hard for Owusu to generate any immense value. He surely is a player to watch though if he continues to start.
