Heading to Euros Brekalo will join Slovenia ahead of the 2024 Euros, which will keep him out of the next few MLS matches with Orlando.

Impact Brekalo is set to make his first Euros appearance with Slovenia on June 16 against Denmark. He has been on a good run during his first MLS season, scoring a goal while averaging 2.8 clearances, 16 interceptions, and 14 tackles. Robin Jansson will remain an option at center back alongside Rodrigo Schlegel during Brekalo's absence.

Impact Brekalo led the Orlando backline Wednesday with seven clearances as they drew 1-1 with Chicago. The inclusion in the Orlando starting XI marked the fifth successive start for Brekalo. Over that span, he's made eight tackles (one won), six interceptions, 23 clearances and a block. He has started in 10 of his first 12 MLS appearances since arriving from Norwegian side Viking Fk prior to the beginning of the 2024 season.

Impact Brekalo got the start off the bench after picking up a minor injury last match. He's gotten the call to start five times in the last six matches, totaling a goal with five tackles, nine clearances and three interceptions in that span.

Picks up injury vs. Toronto Brekalo was injured and subbed out in the 16th minute of Saturday's 2-1 loss against Toronto FC. He recorded no stats before exiting the match.

Impact Brekalo only lasted 16 minutes before departing the contest, and even though he'll undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury, it seems like a stretch that he could be available to face Cincinnati on May 4. If that's the case, then Rodrigo Schlegel would step into the starting lineup to play center-back alongside Robin Jansson.

Impact Brekalo scored his first MLS goal Saturday as Orlando defeated DC United 3-2. Brekalo also contributed an interception and two clearances to Orlando's defensive efforts. The appearance marked Brekalo's fourth MLS appearance (three starts) after transferring to Orlando ahead of the campaign from Norwegian side Viking Fk.

Back in training Thursday Brekalo (not injury related) is back from international duty with Slovenia and was spotted in training Thursday, Mike Gramajo of NBC Sports reports.

Impact Brekalo logged eight minutes off the bench in the 2-2 draw against Malta and was an unused sub during the 2-0 win over Portugal during the international break. This means he should be fully fit and ready to go for Orlando's matchup against the Red Bulls on Saturday.

Sent to Orlando Brekalo has joined Orlando City through a transfer from Norwegian side Viking Fk, his new club announced Thursday.

Impact Brekalo is the newest member of Orlando City, having inked a contract to remain with the team until 2027, holding a club option for the 2028 season. The 25-year-old has made 185 professional appearances in his career, notching 19 goals and two assists in that span. The defender will most likely come into the squad only serving on a bench in a rotational role and will just hope to be with the club for the beginning of the campaign, as he is still awaiting his pending Visa receipt, allowing the player to travel to the United States.
