Impact Klein will take over as the backup goalkeeper after Finn Dahmen sustained a shoulder injury in the German Cup. The young goalkeeper, who spent last season on loan at SV Sandhausen, will now have the chance to integrate into the main professional group.

Signs with Augsburg Klein agreed to terms on a four-year contract with FC Augsburg on Friday after joining on a free transfer from Hoffenheim.

Impact Klein made 16 appearances for the Hoffenheim second team last year in which he recorded two clean sheets while conceding 30 goals. If he stays with the senior team, Klein figures to compete with Tomas Koubek for the No. 2 spot but is unlikely to challenge Rafal Gikiewicz as the preferred option between the sticks.
