Extends through 2026 Batz signed a contract extension with Mainz through the 2026 season.

Impact Batz extended his stay with Mainz through the end of the 2025/26 campaign. The goalkeeper has been a solid backup behind Robin Zentner and now got rewarded with a new contract. Batz will continue in a back up role moving forward.

Surprise start Batz had four saves and allowed one goal in Sunday's 1-0 loss to SC Freiburg.

Impact Batz got the start with Robin Zentner (finger) ruled out and actually put together an impressive showing. Whenever Zentner is fit he will return to the starting XI but Batz showed enough to be a decent option if called upon again, making some truly heroic stops and coming ever-so-close to the clean sheet.
