Accumulates nine tackles
Burn has registered nine tackles (four won), two interceptions and six clearances through four matches.
Impact
Burn was a staple of Newcastle's starting lineup last season, and it seems he will be one again after starting the first four games of this year's campaign. He has been solid through the first couple of games but still hasn't provided anything too special, having yet to bag a goal contribution or a clean sheet. He has been unfortunate to face the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Brighton in his first couple of matches but will have an easier road ahead as his next three premier league games are against Brentford, Burnley and Sheffield.

Has renaissance season with Newcastle
Burn kept 12 clean sheets and scored a goal in 38 Premier League appearances (35 starts) at left-back with Newcastle United.
Impact
The summer arrival of Sven Botman pushed Burn out to left-back for this campaign, but the 6-foot-6 defender quickly adjusted to the new position and ended up with his highest usage in a league season since 2017/18, when he won the League One title with Wigan Athletic. Burn featured enough to trigger an automatic clause that adds another year to his contract up through 2024/25.

Suffers concussion late in draw
Burn made two tackles and three clearances before leaving in stoppage time with a concussion, according to manager Eddie Howe.
Impact
It's a confirmed concussion for Burn, who will be a doubt for next Sunday's trip to Wolverhampton. He'll have to pass concussion protocols in order to return and if he can't make it next match, the hope is that Matt Targett will be healthy enough to start again after Burn played at left-back the last two matches.

Puts up strong season finish
Burn played 16 EPL matches with Newcastle (all starts) and made one assist, 97 clearances, 16 tackles and 20 interceptions.
Impact
Burn was one of Newcastle's several signings during a busy winter transfer window and ended up as a pleasant surprise at the heart of the defense. After suffering with injuries when playing for Brighton during the first half of the campaign, he bounced back and started 16 consecutive matches with some great performances, including an average that would be put him first place among all players in clearances if we discount his numbers at his previous club. Additional reinforcements could be coming for the Magpies' defensive line, but Burn showed that he's more than able to deliver if given the chance to start next season.

Records assist in win
Burn made nine clearances and assisted a goal in Thursday's 2-1 victory against Southampton. He also made two blocks and won one of two tackles in the match.
Impact
Burn defended well on Thursday and he set up Bruno Guimaraes' wonderful winning goal with a headed pass from a set piece routine. He will have to be even better defensively Sunday against third-placed Chelsea, which have scored 56 goals in 27 Premier League matches this season.

Makes seven clearances in draw
Burn took one shot (none on target), made two tackles (one won) intercepted once, cleared seven times and received one yellow card during the 1-1 draw with West Ham on Saturday.
Impact
Burn was a force on the backline for the Magpies and thanks to him the club walked away with a point Saturday. The center-back continues to be the rock of the defense and a strong leader and role model while proving his worth on the pitch. In his last five matches, he is averaging, 0.8 shots, 1.4 tackles and 1.6 interceptions per 90 minutes in all competitions. As long as he continues to put up strong defensive peripherals, he will remain a worthwhile consideration.

Available as substitute
Burn (toe) was named to the match-day squad against Everton on Tuesday.
Impact
Burn has started all but one of his 13 appearances this season in which he generated one goal on seven shots (four on target), 47 clearances and 24 interceptions. GIven his limited offensive upside, Burn shouldn't be expected to offer much in the way of fantasy value outside of defensive stats even once restored to the starting XI.

Impact
Burn wasn't expected to come in and be a regular for Newcastle right away, but a toe issue definitely delays possible playing time. It's unclear what role he'll have at Newcastle, but there's a chance he takes over at center-back if Howe likes what he sees in training.

Back at Newcastle
Burn has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with Newcastle after completing a move from Brighton.
Impact
Burn gives Newcastle another option on their back line and while it's his boyhood club, he isn't the top center-back they were looking for. Burn has 12 starts this season for Brighton, but when everyone was healthy, he was often on the bench. Despite being the new signing, his spot in the side is far from guaranteed.
