Ships three in loss to Nashville
Diop made one save in Saturday's 3-1 loss at Nashville.
Impact
Diop deputized for Quentin Westberg but could not help Atlanta get a result in Nashville. If Westberg is not ready to go this weekend, Diop will return to Florida to face his former side Inter Miami CF on Saturday.

Concedes goal to Chicago
Diop subbed into Sunday's match against the Fire at halfitme, making two saves but conceding a goal in the 2-1 victory.
Impact
Diop replaced Quentin Westberg at halftime of Sunday's match but was beaten by a Kacper Przybylko strike in what was his Atlanta debut. It seems Diop and Westberg are both still in contention to take over as the starting goalkeeper with Brad Guzan (knee) injured until June.

Joins Atlanta
Diop has signed a one-year contract with the option to extend for another season with Atlanta United after leaving the Revolution as a free agent, the club announced Wednesday.
Impact
Diop had a 2022 to forget as he quickly lost the starting job in Miami, got traded to New England and then did not appear for the club before getting cut in October. The 29-year-old will attempt to bounce back in Atlanta, where he, Quentin Westberg and Brad Guzan (achilles) will compete for the starting job in goal.

ROTOWIRE
Traded to New England
Diop has joined the Revolution from Inter Miami in exchange for $125,000 in General Allocation Money, the club announced Friday.
Impact
Diop started the first three matches of the season for Miami but then suffered a quad injury in March and quickly fell down the goalkeeping depth chart at the club. He'll still be a backup to Djordje Petrovic at his new club in New England, but at least he'll be the No. 2 rather than the No. 3.

Remains on bench
Diop (quad) is on the bench for his fourth-straight match Saturday.
Impact
Diop remains on the bench despite being healthy enough to be in the squad the last few weeks. He started the first three matches of the season before injury but has yet to return to net with Drake Callender starting against Charlotte.

ROTOWIRE
Out 6-8 weeks with quad injury
Diop is expected to miss 6-8 weeks with a quad injury, Inter Miami announced Monday.
Impact
Diop conceded seven goals and kept a clean sheet in Miami's first three games of the season, but he missed Saturday's defeat against Cincinnati with a quad injury, and he will be out for around two more months while he recovers. With Nick Marsman (knee) still out, Drake Callender will take over in goal for the time being.

Back in squad
Diop (groin) is on the bench for Sunday's match against D.C. United.
Impact
It's the first squad for Diop since June, but he's still taking things slow and was passed over by Sebastian Breza for a start against D.C. Assuming Diop is healthy, there's a decent chance he'll be back in net for Montreal next match.

Returns to training
Diop (groin) returned to training during Wednesday's session, according to Dave Levesque of the Journal de Montreal.
Impact
Diop now has a clearer path to returning now that he's been spotted in training. After missing a month of matches, he may have a renewed competition for the starting goalkeeper spot, as James Pantemis has conceded nine goals in his last six starts but also conceded no more than one goal in three different games. The next game on the schedule for Diop is Saturday at Inter Miami.

Out with adductor injury
Diop suffered an adductor injury and will be out a "long time", manager Wilfried Nancy told the media after Saturday's 1-1 draw against Nashville SC.
Impact
Diop kept two straight clean sheets before this injury kept him out of Saturday's match, so this will come at a poor time with respect to his form. In his place, look for James Pantemis to get the first crack at the starting job after solid work so far.

Impact
Diop helped Montreal earn a point by shutting out United on Wednesday. The clean sheet was the third in eight league starts for the keeper, while his five saves upped his season total to 23. The hope is that the injury doesn't keep him out and if it does, James Pantemis could receive another start Saturday at Nashville.

Stands on head in big win
Diop made six saves and received one clean sheet in the 1-0 win against Chicago on Saturday.
Impact
Diop was incredible in the win Saturday. Almost every attempt on net for Chicago was a high-danger opportunity and Diop stood as tall as he possibly could have. He stopped a few breakaways and managed to adjust to cover backdoor opportunities. This was by far his best performance of the season and just the second time he has made six or more saves.
