Heads to San Jose Akapo transferred to San Jose from Cadiz on Friday. He's committed to a contract through 2023 with an option for 2024.

Impact Akapo was a regular player for Cadiz last season, starting in 21 of his 25 appearances around his winter break for the African Cup of Nations. With this in mind, he didn't need to go anywhere else, but a big contract and the arrival of Joseba Zaldua meant he would probably get pushed out of the team no matter what he tried. He will likely take over from Paul Marie as the starter at right-back as soon as he's ready in San Jose.
