Impact Hamid kept two clean sheets and allowed 16 goals in 10 MLS appearances this campaign before contracting an illness in June and then undergoing season-ending ligament surgery on his hand in July. The 31-year-old is expected to leave D.C. during the offseason, leaving David Ochoa or Rafael Romo to be the starting goalkeeper heading into 2023.

Impact Hamid would be quite the addition to the lineup after tearing ligaments in his hand in early July. Should he be able to start, Rafael Romo would make way. Neither offers tremendous value but Hamid has always been a reliable player in goal, making 35 saves in 10 games played this season.

Out two-three months Hamid is expected to miss between two and three months after undergoing surgery on a ligament rupture in his hand, his club announced Friday.
Impact Hamid has missed a couple of games due to this injury and any attempts to avoid surgery have failed so far. This situation likely tabs Rafael Romo, who's conceded seven goals in the last three games, as the starter for the rest of the summer. Should Romo struggle, Jon Kempin is also available to play while Hamid is out.
