Contract negotiations ongoing Fontana's contract has run out with Philadelphia, and he will become a free agent at the end of the year if no new deal is agreed upon.

Impact Fontana has scored eight goals in 45 MLS appearances for the Union after coming through the academy, but the 22-year-old's usage slightly decreased in 2021 after scoring six times the season prior. He is in talks with the club about a potential new contract, but he will enter free agency on Jan. 1. if nothing materializes.

Impact Fontana has been questionable the last couple matches, but he's failed to make the squad in all of them. This is at least evidence he's over the concussion and training with the rest of the team. He saw a decent amount of time early in the season and went 69 minutes in his last appearance June 20.
