Option picked up Smir is set to return to Minnesota after his option for 2025 was picked up.

Impact Smir made three starts for the club due to injuries ahead of him, and did enough to earn another year. He will remain the backup option, and barring injury or suspension it's unlikely Smir will see many chances for the senior team in 2025.

Concedes goal, logs five saves Smir conceded one goal but logged five saves during Minnesota United's 1-1 draw Saturday at Houston.

Impact For the third straight time, Smir has failed to maintain a clean sheet in MLS action. But unlike his previous appearances, he did not concede multiple goals at Houston. Also, Smir's five saves were more than double those he logged across his past games.

Beaten late in loss Smir allowed two goals while making two saves during Sunday's 2-1 loss to LA Galaxy.

Impact Smir conceded a goal in each half including the game winning goal in the 90th minute. The keeper has allowed five goals while making two saves as he continues to fill in for both Clint Irwin and Dayne St. Clair.

Concedes three goals to Vancouver Smir had no saves and allowed three goals in Wednesday's 3-1 loss versus Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

Impact Smir had a tough MLS debut as he paid for defenders' errors in the first half before being beaten by a mid-range shot in the 60th minute. Despite normally being the third option, Smir is now required due to Clint Irwin's (undisclosed) injury and should retain the spot until Dayne St. Clair returns from international duty. Up next is a visit to Los Angeles Galaxy, who have scored the third-most goals in the league this season.
