Becomes free agent Austin have declined their contract option on Lundqvist, thus making him a free agent, the club confirmed Friday.

Impact Lundqvist was a regular starter for Austin at some point in the season, mainly between late April and early June, but he lost his place as the campaign progressed and barely saw minutes in the final months of the calendar. The veteran is a known commodity at the MLS level, however, and he might be able to find a new team for the upcoming 2024 season. He registered 23 appearances (eight starts) for Austin in league play in 2023.
