
Jason Ross Jr. is a play-by-play announcer for the Big Ten Network and FOX Sports, with experience calling various sports including college football, basketball, hockey, baseball/softball, volleyball, soccer, lacrosse, swimming and diving, and track and field. Ross Jr. also has experience at ESPN and Westwood One.
He is one of the voices of the Chicago Sky of the WNBA and co-hosts a show around the Sky on Marquee Network. In addition, he narrates a Pickleball show produced by Intersport that airs on CBS Sports Network. In January of 2022, Ross Jr. made history by becoming the first Black television play-by-play announcer in Chicago Blackhawks history.
Ross Jr. is also a writer, reporter and producer, and a co-founder of a Detroit-based sports media company called Motor City Roundup. He previously worked with Sports Illustrated, United Shore Professional Baseball League, Detroit Free Press, Detroit City FC, and 106.7 WLLZ.
He earned a BA in media communication from Lawrence Technological University where he was named one of the inaugural recipients of the national Black Play-by-Play Broadcaster Scholarship Fund.
