
Longtime journalist and analyst Chris Broussard is co-host of FS1’s daily studio show FIRST THINGS FIRST.
Since joining FIRST THINGS FIRST in 2021, Broussard has covered sports’ biggest moments and stages, hosting the New York-based show on location from FOX Sports’ marquee events including the Super Bowl, World Series and Indianapolis 500, while bringing a veteran journalist’s perspective shaped by decades of experience in the profession.Â
Broussard rose to national prominence as an NBA reporter at The New York Times, where he covered the Knicks and Nets as well as the NBA at large from 1998 to 2004. He began his career in sports writing at the Cleveland Plain Dealer in 1990 before becoming the Cleveland Cavaliers’ beat writer for the Akron Beacon Journal in 1994.
In 2004, Broussard joined ESPN, contributing across multiple platforms including ESPN The Magazine and ESPN.com, while becoming a familiar on-air presence on SportsCenter. He also made regular appearances on NBA Countdown and First Take, establishing himself as one of the network’s most recognizable and trusted voices.
 Broussard was born in Baton Rouge, LA. He played basketball at Oberlin College and graduated with a degree in English in 1990. He is also involved in numerous charitable endeavors, including serving as founder and president of The K.I.N.G. Movement, a national Christian men’s organization.
