Impact Husso will make his first NHL start of the 2025-26 season after being recalled from AHL San Diego on Wednesday. He has a 6-4-3 record with a 2.49 GAA and a .908 save percentage across 13 AHL outings this campaign. The Kings sit 27th in the NHL with 2.65 goals per game this year.

Recalled by Anaheim Husso was recalled from AHL San Diego on Wednesday.

Impact Husso hasn't yet appeared in a game for the Ducks during the regular season. He'll serve as Petr Mrazek's backup during Wednesday's game against Vancouver since Lukas Dostal is unavailable due to an upper-body injury. Dostal is considered day-to-day, and Husso will likely head back to the minors once he's deemed healthy.

Picks up third shutout Husso posted a 17-save shutout in AHL San Diego's 7-0 win over Abbotsford on Saturday.

Impact Husso is 6-4-1 on the season, and three of his victories have come via shutout. He's maintained a 2.21 GAA and a .920 save percentage so far. The 30-year-old netminder is doing everything he can to be ready should the Ducks need to call him up at some point later in the season.

Logs second shutout Wednesday Husso posted a 27-save shutout in AHL San Diego's 3-0 win over San Jose on Wednesday.

Impact Both of Husso's wins this season have come via shutout, but he's allowed a total of 10 goals in his three losses. The 30-year-old netminder will continue to split time with Calle Clang. Husso figures to be the first goalie for a call-up if Lukas Dostal or Petr Mrazek are unavailable at any point in 2025-26.

Shutout in AHL opener Husso posted a 26-save shutout in AHL San Diego's 5-0 win over Coachella Valley on Friday.

Impact Husso was waived on the second day of the NHL season after briefly looking like he'd stay on the Ducks' roster as a third goalie. The 30-year-old will be the first call-up should Lukas Dostal or Petr Mrazek suffer an injury. Husso has plenty of NHL experience, but he doesn't have a great situation, so he is unlikely to have much fantasy value in 2025-26, especially if he loses playing time to younger goalies while with the Gulls.

OCTOBER 11, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Lands on waivers Husso was waived by the Ducks on Tuesday, according to Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune.

Impact Husso was behind Lukas Dostal and Petr Mrazek on the depth chart, so this transaction isn't much of a surprise. Husso has underwhelmed in the NHL over the last several years, so it seems unlikely he'd be claimed on the waiver wire. The Finnish netminder will link up with AHL San Diego if he doesn't find a new home in the next 24 hours.

Patrolling home crease Monday Husso will start Monday's preseason game at home against the Sharks, Derek Lee of The Hockey News reports.

Impact Husso split time with the Red Wings and Ducks last year, going 2-6-3 with a 3.48 GAA and .890 save percentage. He signed a two-year extension with Anaheim during the offseason but could struggle to find much NHL playing time behind Lukas Dostal and Petr Mrazek.

Inks two-year extension Husso signed a two-year, $4.4 million contract extension with the Ducks, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.

Impact Husso was a midseason acquisition via trade by the Ducks from the Red Wings, but the goaltender appeared in just four games at the NHL level with Anaheim. The 30-year-old spent most of his brief time in the Ducks organization so far with AHL San Diego, where me made nine starts. Even after the trade of John Gibson, the Ducks still hold the rights to goaltenders Petr Mrazek and pending RFA Lukas Dostal, leaving a lot of competition for starts moving forward and potentially a lot of one-way money tied up between the three of them.

Bombarded by Jets in OT loss Husso turned aside 42 shots in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Jets.

Impact The 30-year-old netminder did everything he could to steal a win for the Ducks in their regular-season finale, but Mark Scheifele snapped a puck past him 71 seconds into OT to end Anaheim's campaign. After a rough beginning to the season as part of the goaltending jumble in Detroit, Husso looked better in four late-season outings for Anaheim, going 1-1-1 with a 2.99 GAA and .925 save percentage. He'll try to find a backup job as a free agent this offseason.

Impact Husso gave up a pair of goals in a span of 1:34 in the third period, but the Ducks quickly bounced back and then took the win in overtime. Husso improved to 2-6-2 with a 3.63 GAA and an .880 save percentage across 12 appearances between the Ducks and the Red Wings. He'll stay in the NHL as long as John Gibson (lower body) is unavailable, but expect Lukas Dostal to get the nod Thursday against the Kings.

Impact Husso spent the last two weeks in the AHL, but he'll rejoin the Ducks to provide additional depth after John Gibson sustained a lower-body injury against the Flames on Thursday. It's not yet clear whether Gibson will miss additional time, but Husso will be available to serve as Lukas Dostal's backup if needed.
