Impact Forsberg drew the starting nod in the crease during Saturday's preseason opener and played the entire game, but he didn't have his sharpest performance. The 33-year-old went 16-12-5 with a 2.57 GAA and .909 save percentage across 36 regular-season starts during his first year in Los Angeles last season, and he'll likely split time with Darcy Kuemper to begin the 2026-27 campaign.

Impact Hill lost out on playing time to Carter Hart in the crease to close out the 2025-26 season, but Hill drew the start during Saturday's preseason opener and played the full game. Across 27 regular-season starts last year, Hill went 10-9-6 with a 3.04 GAA and .871 save percentage. Hill and Hart are each expected to make two starts during the preseason, and Hart is in line to serve as the Golden Knights' No. 1 netminder once the regular season begins, with Hill slated to operate as the primary backup.

Impact Forsberg is expected to see a larger workload for the Kings after appearing in all four of the team's postseason games back in the spring. The 33-year-old backstop was efficient in 2025-26 with a 16-12-5 record, a 2.57 GAA, a .909 save percentage and three shutouts across 36 regular-season outings. He's set to serve in tandem with Darcy Kuemper for the second straight campaign, but the workload could vary month by month if either netminder runs into trouble in the regular season. However, Forsberg's anticipated start Saturday will give him the advantage to showcase his skills first this season against the runners-up for the 2025-26 Stanley Cup.
