Impact Seguin appeared in only 27 games during the 2025-26 regular season, providing seven goals and 17 points. He underwent surgery in mid-December to repair a torn ACL. Seguin's inability to stay healthy over the last three regular seasons will likely hurt his fantasy stock ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

Out until 2026-27 Seguin (knee) will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign and the entirety of the playoffs, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports Thursday.

Impact Dallas has filed the paperwork to gain full cap relief for Seguin, but in doing so, the Stars have ruled out the possibility of him returning at any point during the 2026 postseason. This is the second straight campaign that Seguin has missed a major block of time due to injury -- he played in 20 regular-season outings and an additional 18 playoff matches in 2024-25. He'll finish 2025-26 with seven goals and 17 points in 27 appearances. Seguin's contract runs through 2026-27, so he'll probably be back with the Stars next season.

Impact Seguin was initially expected to miss the remainder of the regular season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL on Tuesday. While it still seems likely that he'll miss most, or all, of the regular season, the Stars aren't yet ready to make that determination and plan to check in on his progress in late February. Despite not being officially ruled out for the rest of the year, fantasy managers shouldn't count on meaningful late-season production from him.

Impact Seguin is already on long-term injured reserve, and he could be reasonably expected to miss at least 5-6 months at a minimum. The Stars are waiting for an update from Seguin's doctor to determine if they will place him on season-ending LTIR, which would rule him out for the playoffs but also give the team relief from his full $9.85 million cap hit rather than the reduced figure of just over $3.8 million under the revised rules this year.
