Tyler Seguin injury update | Dallas Stars
The 33-year-old forward underwent successful ACL surgery on Tuesday, Dec. 16

NHL.COM
Not yet ruled out for season
Seguin (knee) will have his return timetable evaluated after the Olympic break after undergoing successful surgery Tuesday.
Impact
Seguin was initially expected to miss the remainder of the regular season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL on Tuesday. While it still seems likely that he'll miss most, or all, of the regular season, the Stars aren't yet ready to make that determination and plan to check in on his progress in late February. Despite not being officially ruled out for the rest of the year, fantasy managers shouldn't count on meaningful late-season production from him.

Undergoes surgery Tuesday
Seguin underwent surgery to repair his ACL on Tuesday, and he has been ruled out for the remainder of the regular season, Sean Shapiro of DLLS Sports reports.
Impact
Seguin is already on long-term injured reserve, and he could be reasonably expected to miss at least 5-6 months at a minimum. The Stars are waiting for an update from Seguin's doctor to determine if they will place him on season-ending LTIR, which would rule him out for the playoffs but also give the team relief from his full $9.85 million cap hit rather than the reduced figure of just over $3.8 million under the revised rules this year.

Placed on long-term injured reserve
Seguin (knee) was placed on long-term injured reserve Saturday, retroactive to Dec. 2.
Impact
Seguin suffered an ACL injury that will keep him out of action for 6-9 months, effectively ending his regular season. Seguin has seven goals and 17 points in 27 outings this season. He should be ready to go for the start of training camp in September, but could play in the playoffs, if the Stars make a long run.

On injured reserve
Seguin (knee) is on injured reserve, per the NHL media site.
Impact
Seguin was already expected to be out long term, so this move isn't surprising. He has seven goals and 17 points in 27 appearances this season. The full extent of his ACL injury isn't known, but if it's a tear, then this will likely be the second straight regular season in which Seguin has logged fewer than 30 games.

Set for long-term absence
Seguin sustained an ACL injury that will keep him out long term, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports Wednesday.
Impact
If Seguin's ACL injury is a tear, fantasy managers can expect him to be on the shelf for 6-9 months, which not only keeps him out for the rest of this year and perhaps into training camp in the fall. If this does mark the end of Seguin's 2025-26 campaign, he will end the year with seven goals and 10 assists, including four power-play points, in 27 appearances. It would also mark the second straight year in which Seguin failed to reach the 30-game threshold.

Questionable to return
Seguin sustained a lower-body injury and is questionable to return to Tuesday's game versus the Rangers, Brien Rea of Victory+ reports.
Impact
Seguin sustained the injury as he fell awkwardly following a hit by Vladislav Gavrikov in the first period. The injury was announced before the first intermission, and while he's officially questionable to return, the early update doesn't bode particularly well for his status. The Stars also play Wednesday versus the Devils, which could require Nathan Bastian to draw into the lineup if Seguin can't play.

Two more apples in win
Seguin logged two assists and a plus-3 rating in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Kraken.
Impact
Seguin helped out on tallies by Esa Lindell and Vladislav Kolyachonok in this contest. While Seguin has gone five games without a goal, he's racked up seven helpers in that span. The 33-year-old forward is up to seven goals, 10 assists, 29 shots on net, 15 hits and a plus-9 rating through 24 outings this season. As long as he's seeing top-six minutes, he should be productive enough to help in most fantasy formats.

Dishes pair of power-play assists
Seguin logged two power-play assists and two hits in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Oilers.
Impact
Seguin helped out on goals by Wyatt Johnston and Jason Robertson during the second period. This was Seguin's third multi-point effort of his last five outings. The 33-year-old is up to seven goals, eight assists, four power-play points, 28 shots on net and a plus-6 rating through 23 appearances. He's been steady enough lately to help fantasy managers, and he should remain in a top-six role throughout the year.

Two helpers in Tuesday's loss
Seguin notched two assists in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Islanders.
Impact
He helped set up a pair of Jason Robertson tallies, but the rest of the Stars offense went cold on the night. Seguin has a sluggish start to the season, but he's delivered back-to-back multi-point performances and over the last seven games he's produced four goals and seven points.

One of each in Saturday's win
Seguin scored a goal on two shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Flyers.
Impact
Seguin has four goals and a helper over his last six games. There's some chemistry building for him with Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson. Seguin is up to seven goals, 10 points, 26 shots on net, 11 hits and a plus-2 rating across 19 appearances. If he can pick up the pace a bit, the 33-year-old should still have enough in the tank for push for a 50-plus-point campaign.
