Secures one-year extension Novak signed a one-year, $800,000 contract extension with Nashville on Wednesday.

Impact Novak's extension is a one-way deal which means the 25-year-old center will be harder to move between the NHL and the AHL going forward. In his 20 games for the Predators this season, the Minnesota native has set personal bests in goals (four), assists (seven) and shots (39).
