Impact Martin was an emergency depth option for the Lightning in goal, but he never had much of a chance to play. Expect Christopher Gibson to serve the role of taxi squad goalie for the bulk of this season, while Martin gets more playing time in the minors.

Impact Colton is still a long shot to make the active roster at any point in 2020-21. The 24-year-old will serve as forward depth while earning practice time with the big club.

Still dealing with LBI Stamkos (lower body) remains day-to-day despite being activated from the NHL's COVID-19 protocol Sunday, Bryan Burns of the Lightning's official site reports.

Impact Stamkos was sidelined by the lower-body injury prior to receiving a false positive test that put him in the protocol. It's unclear at this time if Stamkos will be ready to suit up for Monday's game against the Panthers.

Returns from protocol Stamkos was activated from the NHL's COVID-19 protocol Sunday, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.

Impact Stamkos had a false positive test, so he'll rejoin the team and return to the lineup in Monday's game against the Panthers. The 31-year-old will resume his role on the top line and the top power-play unit. Prior to his placement in protocol, Stamkos produced seven goals and seven assists through 11 games.

Impact Smith has been working hard on the taxi squad to get to this opportunity. It remains to be seen if he can stick once Steven Stamkos returns, but Anthony Cirelli's week-to-week absence could give him a toe in the door, especially with this performance. Smith has played 84 NHL games over five seasons, with more than half of those (46) back in Dallas in 2017-18. The Bolts are deep, so it will be hard for him to stay on the active roster throughout the season.

Impact Coach Jon Cooper spread the ice time around and Johnson managed those goals in just 13:18. He continues to deliver points in sporadic ways, making him a challenging activation. But Saturday was a nice night for Johnson, who now has six points, including three goals, in 12 goals.

Impact Vasilevskiy has been dominant this season -- he has allowed two or fewer goals in nine of his 12 starts and just one in six. He's the only goalie that's in the conversation as a first-round pick and remains a lock for consideration as the league's best goaltender.

Impact Cirelli suffered an upper-body injury during Thursday's loss to the Panthers. It appears he'll miss at least a week, so it wouldn't be surprising if he was placed on injured reserve. The 23-year-old center enjoyed a fantastic start to the season, compiling four goals, six assists and 24 shots on net through 12 games.
