Headed overseas Svozil agreed to terms on a contract with Czech club HC Kometa Brno on Wednesday, per Honza Zoufal of EliteProspects.

Impact Svozil is a restricted free agent this offseason, so the Jackets could still give him a qualifying offer to retain his NHL rights. Still, the 23-year-old defenseman looks set to continue his career overseas after spending the last three seasons playing exclusively with AHL Cleveland. Before making the jump to North America, Svozil played for Brno most recently back in 2020-21.

Sent to AHL Cleveland The Blue Jackets returned Svozil to AHL Cleveland on Saturday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.

Impact Svozil garnered an assist in the Blue Jackets' 7-3 loss to Pittsburgh on Friday. The 21-year-old blueliner was recalled earlier in the day to play in the final preseason game. Svozil had 23 points in 57 regular-season AHL games in 2023-24.
