Signs one-year deal Stastney signed a one-year, $1.575 million contract with Edmonton on Sunday.

Impact Stastney generated two goals, 10 points, 56 shots on net and 63 blocked shots across 66 regular-season outings between Edmonton and Nashville in 2025-26. He will provide the Oilers' blue line with some depth in the 2026-27 campaign, but he may not play regularly unless injuries occur.

Losing playing time Stastney was scratched for the fourth game in a row in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Ducks.

Impact Stastney has been scratched seven times in March. It appears Ty Emberson has picked up the slack on the blue line for now, though he's far from secure to stay in the lineup. Stastney has gone 13 contests without a point, leaving him stuck at 10 points, 56 shots on net, 63 blocked shots and a minus-11 rating over 66 appearances between Edmonton and Nashville this season. Stastney has just one point, a goal, in 36 games for the Oilers, despite his average ice time of 16:02 being 1:10 more per game than he saw with the Predators prior to a December trade.

This was his first point as an Oiler -- he has played 23 games with a minus-4 rating and 28 blocked shots since he was acquired from the Predators. Overall, the blueliner has 10 points, 52 shots on net, 53 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating through 53 appearances in his first full NHL campaign. Stastney looks to have the edge over Alec Regula for playing time on the third pairing.

Shipped up to Edmonton Stastney was traded to the Oilers from the Predators on Friday in exchange for a 2027 third-round pick, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.

Impact Stastney won't offer much in the way of offensive upside for the Oilers; he is currently stuck in a 20-game goal drought during which he chipped in five helpers, but he will give them some defensive depth on the blueliner, especially with Jake Walman (lower body) still on long-term injured reserve.

Posts helper Tuesday Stastney logged an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Flames.

Impact Stastney ended an eight-game point drought with the helper. The 25-year-old has played regularly in a bottom-four role this season, but he hasn't been the most consistent blueliner when it comes to offense. For the year, he's at seven points, 23 shots on net, 20 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating across a career-high 25 appearances.

Tallies in Sunday's loss Stastney scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Stars.

Impact Stastney is helping his case for staying in the lineup with a four-game point streak (one goal, three assists). The 25-year-old defenseman has added eight shots on net, nine blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through 10 appearances this season. He's already matched his career high in points for one NHL campaign, but he'll need to stay sharp to fend off any challenges for playing time from Nick Blankenburg.

Garners helper in loss Stastney registered an assist in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Ducks.

Impact The helper was Stastney's first point in seven games this season. The 25-year-old has held down a steady role on the third pairing, though he could be at risk of losing his spot in the lineup once Nicolas Hague (upper body) returns from injured reserve. Stastney has added four shots on net, six blocked shots and a minus-3 rating.

Impact Stastney has contributed three assists, 15 shots on goal, eight hits and 24 blocked shots across 23 NHL appearances this season. Nashville dressed seven defensemen in Sunday's 2-1 loss to Montreal, but Jonathan Marchessault (lower body) will return to the lineup against the Islanders on Tuesday.

Returning to action Sunday Stastney (upper body) is available for Sunday's game against Montreal, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.

Impact Stastney missed Thursday's matchup against Dallas due to an upper-body injury, but he'll be back in action following a one-game absence. He's made 15 appearances since the start of March, logging three assists, 16 blocked shots, eight hits and two PIM while averaging 16:23 of ice time.

Battling upper-body injury Stastney will miss Thursday's game against Nashville due to an upper-body injury.

Impact Stastney has three assists in 22 appearances in 2024-25. His absence will probably result in Nashville dressing 12 forwards and six defensemen after utilizing an 11-7 split in its last game Tuesday. Forward Matthew Wood will probably make his NHL debut.

Lends helper Saturday Stastney notched an assist and two blocked shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Maple Leafs.

Impact Stastney has three helpers over his last seven contests while seeing fairly steady usage on the third pairing. He'll have to fend off Jordan Oesterle for playing time, but Andreas Englund is likely in more danger of stepping out of the lineup than Stastney. For the season, the 25-year-old Stastney is up to three helpers, 12 shots on net, 17 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating across 16 NHL appearances.

MARCH 23, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Assists in consecutive contests Stastney notched an assist in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Blackhawks.

Impact Stastney had the secondary helper on Steven Stamkos' goal in overtime. The 25-year-old Stastney has earned an assist in consecutive games while stepping into a top-four role and a power-play spot in recent contests. He's a lock to be in the lineup as long as Roman Josi (upper body) is out, though the Predators were forced into dressing seven defensemen with no spare healthy forwards on the roster. Fantasy managers in deep formats may get some value out of Stastney, who has two assists, 10 shots on net, 10 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating over 11 appearances. Brady Skjei remains the safest healthy blueliner to roster from Nashville.

MARCH 9, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Produces helper in win Stastney notched an assist in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Kraken.

Impact Stastney had failed to earn a point over his previous nine NHL outings this season. The 25-year-old blueliner ended that slump with a helper on Luke Evangelista's empty-netter in the third period. Over the previous two campaigns, Stastney had six points in 28 appearances, so his offensive upside is limited. He's added nine shots on net, 10 blocked shots, two hits and a minus-4 rating in 2024-25 while seeing bottom-four minutes.
