Up from minors Tverberg was called up by the Maple Leafs on an emergency basis Thursday.

Impact Tverberg has 14 goals, 32 points and 34 outings in 61 outings with AHL Toronto this season. The 24-year-old hasn't made his NHL debut yet, but the Maple Leafs might give him a chance to show what he can do at some point during this stint with the big club.

Impact Tverberg performed well enough to stick around until the last round of cuts for the Maple Leafs, but he was always expected to begin the campaign in the minors. The 2020 seventh-round pick racked up 15 goals and 30 points through 35 games with the University of Connecticut as a junior in 2022-23.
