Impact Graves has a goal, eight PIM, 15 hits and 35 blocks in 19 outings in 2025-26. Erik Karlsson (lower body) was activated off injured reserve in a corresponding move. Graves played in Wednesday's 4-1 win over Calgary, so putting him on IR means that he isn't eligible to play Thursday in Edmonton or Sunday in Vancouver.

Even with his elevation to the NHL roster, the 30-year-old Graves is far from a lock to play in Tuesday's matchup with the Lightning. In his 17 NHL games this year, Graves has managed just one point, 19 shots and 13 hits.

Impact Graves has one point (a goal) in 17 appearances with Pittsburgh this season and has spent the past six games as a healthy scratch. The Penguins are trying to move him to the minors because they need a roster spot after acquiring Yegor Chinakhov from Columbus.
