Kaapo Kahkonen - Tough luck loss to FlyersKahkonen made 20 saves Saturday in a 1-0 loss to the Flyers.
ImpactThe only puck that got past him came off the stick of Travis Konecny, who broke in alone shorthanded and beat Kahkonen with a wrist shot from the slot. It's been a rough go for the netminder this season. He's 7-24-3 in 33 starts between San Jose and New Jersey, and while his GAA and save percentage have improved since his trade east, Kahkonen hasn't been able to translate that better performance into wins. He's just 1-4-0 with one shutout in six starts in Jersey. Kahkonen is a UFA at season's end, and his future is up in the air.

Travis Konecny - Shortie seals winKonecny scored a shorthanded goal in Saturday's 1-0 win over New Jersey.
ImpactIt was Konecny's NHL-best sixth short-handed goal. He was cheating a bit on the play and got lucky when Nick Seeler poked the puck into the neutral zone. There, Scott Laughton backhanded a pass to Konecny, who broke in alone and wired a wrist shot from the slot past Kaapo Kahkonen. It was Konecny's 400th point in the NHL. His six shorties are the most in an NHL season since Michael Grabner did it in 2018-19.

Samuel Ersson - Fourth shutout of seasonErsson made 20 saves in a 1-0 win over the Devils on Saturday.
ImpactThe win was a team effort. His teammates did strong work defensively, and Ersson took care of the pucks that did get through. It was his second consecutive game where he allowed one or fewer goals after he allowed 26 goals in his previous six starts. Ersson has four shutouts on the season, and he's the first Flyers netminder to put up four since Steve Mason did it in 2015-16. He's also the first Flyers rookie goalie with that many since Brian Boucher had four in 1999-2000.
