Goals in consecutive games Eyssimont scored a goal on four shots and added three hits in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Capitals.

Impact Eyssimont has scored in consecutive games after being limited to just one assist over his first 18 appearances this season. Despite the lack of offense, he's been a fourth-line fixture, and he also saw 54 seconds of power-play time Wednesday. Eyssimont has three points, 40 shots on net, 24 PIM and 21 hits across 20 outings overall.

Impact This was his first goal and second point of the campaign, ending an 11-game slump. Eyssimont has been a bottom-six fixture since he made his season debut Oct. 15 after missing Opening Night. Impact Eyssimont is coming off a career year in 2023-24 during which he played in a career-best 81 games while also registering personal bests in goals (11), assists (14) and shots (149). The 28-year-old Colorado native should be in the mix for power-play minutes with the No. 2 group this season -- assuming his undisclosed injury doesn't sideline him for too long.

So close to Gordie Howe hat trick Eyssimont had a goal and an assist Thursday in a 7-4 victory over the Canadiens. He also picked up four PIM.

Impact His goal was pure determination and the epitome of never giving up. Eyssimont pushed the game to 2-1 in the first period when he drove the net and jammed the puck off Cayden Primeau's stick and up-and-over the netminder. And his PIM came in the third when he mistakenly thought that Arber Xhekaj was the cause of Brandon Hagel's injury and chased him down to throw fists. But Xhekaj was an innocent bystander when Steven Stamkos slammed an unsuspecting Hagel. It's a great demonstration of why Eyssimont is a fabulous teammate -- he stands up for his guys, and he came within a referee's discretion of a Gordie Howe hat trick. He could hit 25 points and 100 hits this season, but there's little fantasy value in this bottom-six workhorse.

Impact Eyssimont remains mired in an 18-game goal drought during which he has garnered 41 shots, five assists and 20 hits while averaging 12:33 of ice time. As long as the 27-year-old center continues to register over two shots per game, he should eventually mind the back of the net and break out of his slump.

He started the campaign with the Jets, but was claimed off waivers by the Sharks on Jan. 6 before being traded to the Lightning in exchange for Vladislav Namestnikov on March 1.
