Waived by Flames Frk was placed on waivers Sunday for assignment to AHL Calgary, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Impact Frk signed a two-way deal with the Flames after playing last year in Switzerland. The 30-year-old winger last played in the NHL in 2021, when he scored two goals in six games. Frk figures to spend the bulk of the 2024-25 season in the AHL, where he'll provide some scoring depth for the Flames.

Coming back to North America Frk agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with Calgary on Monday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

Impact Frk will give the NHL another shot after spending last season playing in Switzerland for Bern SC and Rapperswil-Jona. During his last NHL stint back in 2021-22, the 30-year-old winger was only able to earn six appearances for the Kings, though he did score twice on 15 shots in those contests. Heading into training camp, Frk is far from a lock to make the Opening Night roster and could spend significant time in the minors.

Signs overseas Frk agreed to terms on a two-year contract with Swiss club SC Bern on Monday.

Impact Frk spent the 2022-23 season playing exclusively for AHL Springfield for which he racked up 30 goals and 34 helpers in 67 contests. Despite his strong offensive production, Frk wasn't able to break into the NHL lineup for the Blues and now will head to Europe to extend his playing career.

Impact Frk has been sidelined since early February with a lower-body issue, but he's been a full participant at practice since Thursday, so it's safe to assume he's finally fully healthy. The 27-year-old winger is, however, still on injured reserve. He may head to the Kings' taxi squad if and when he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Impact Frk has been out since early February with what's believed to be a recurrence of a groin injury that forced him to miss the start of the season.
