Signs one-year deal Brossoit signed a one-year contract with the Ducks on Wednesday.

Impact Brossoit had a 15-11-1 record, 3.06 GAA and .901 save percentage in 28 regular-season outings between AHL San Jose and Rockford in 2025-26. The 33-year-old is a veteran of 141 career regular-season NHL games, so he's a viable option for Anaheim to play if Lukas Dostal or Ville Husso suffers an injury. However, Brossoit will probably begin 2026-27 in the minors.

Impact Brossoit will return to the minors because Yaroslav Askarov (upper body) will start Monday's home matchup against St. Louis. The 33-year-old Brossoit has gone 11-3-1 with a 2.52 GAA and a .915 save percentage across 15 appearances with AHL San Jose this season.

Recalled Friday Brossoit was elevated from AHL San Jose on Friday, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Impact Brossoit has logged just one game at the NHL level this year, giving up six goals on 23 shots in a defeat to Ottawa on March 15. With a back-to-back against the Ducks and Maple Leafs on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, Brossoit should get another opportunity to start again sooner rather than later -- assuming Yaroslav Askarov (upper body) remains on the shelf.

Impact Yaroslav Askarov (lower body) participated in Monday's practice and appears to be ready to return to the lineup in Tuesday's road matchup against Nashville. During his lone NHL appearance during his stint with the big club, Brossoit allowed six goals on 23 shots in a 7-4 loss to Ottawa on March 12.

The 32-year-old netminder's return to the top level of hockey didn't go particularly well, however, and the tone for the game was set when Brossoit watched his own defenseman, Mario Ferraro, tap the puck past him for Ottawa's first goal, credited to Drake Batherson. Yaroslav Askarov and Alex Nedeljkovic have struggled this campaign -- the Sharks rank 30th in goals per game with 3.49 -- so there might be an opportunity for Brossoit to get a shot in the NHL with his new organization. For now, though, Brossoit is projected to remain in the minors.

Impact Brossoit made three appearances for the IceHogs, in which he went 2-1-0 with a .900 save percentage -- though it will be the goalie goal that stands out the most from his time in the minors. At this point, when Brossoit might get into the crease for the Hawks remains to be seen, but he should eventually break into the rotation with Spencer Knight and Arvid Soderblom now that his hip problem is behind him.
