Kaedan Korczak - NHL News & Rumors

Two assists in Penguins debut Korczak recorded two assists, posted a plus-three rating, placed three shots on net and had two blocked shots in Wednesday's 7-0 Opening Night victory over Philadelphia.

Impact Korczak's debut with Pittsburgh exceeded expectations, as he had an all-around showing highlighted by a pair of helpers. He dished out the secondary assist on Ville Koivunen's goal in the first period before recording his second helper of the game on Filip Hallander's tally in the second. The 25-year-old Korczak was a solid defenseman with Vegas in 2025-26, where he posted three goals, 16 points, 60 shots on net, 102 hits and 95 blocked shots across 78 regular-season outings. If he can post a higher level of offensive production with Pittsburgh, as well as maintain his stats without the puck, Korczak could work his way into fantasy relevance in the 2026-27 campaign.

Swapped in one-for-one deal Korczak was traded to the Penguins from the Golden Knights on Tuesday in exchange for Parker Wotherspoon.

Impact Korczak is three years younger than Wotherspoon but carries a significantly higher cap hit ($3.25 million), especially with the Pens retaining half of Wotherspoon's contract. Perhaps more importantly, the 25-year-old Korczak is a right-handed defenseman, which gives Pittsburgh some cover on that side behind Erik Karlsson and Kris Letang.

Adds pair of helpers Korczak notched two assists and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Avalanche in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.

Impact Korczak's role has shrunk as the postseason has progressed, but he was in the lineup over Ben Hutton in this game after being a scratch in four of the previous six contests. Even when he plays, Korczak is limited to third-pairing minutes, giving him minimal fantasy upside. He's earned three helpers, three shots on goal, 21 hits, nine blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over 11 playoff appearances.

Posts assist Saturday Korczak registered an assist in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Avalanche.

Impact Korczak had been scratched for the previous two games, and he's sat out four times in the Golden Knights' last 11 contests. The 25-year-old has been sharing a third-pairing spot with Ben Hutton. New head coach John Tortorella tends to not give players much of a leash to play through struggles, so Korczak will need to be at his best to be a regular in the lineup in the playoffs. The defenseman has earned 15 points, 58 shots on net, 97 hits, 93 blocked shots, 26 PIM and a plus-6 rating over 76 appearances this season.

Garners helper in win Korczak notched an assist and two PIM in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Penguins.

Impact Korczak has earned two helpers over nine contests since the Olympic break. The 25-year-old blueliner is playing regularly on the third pairing currently, giving him limited chances to help the offense. For the season, he's put up 14 points, 55 shots on net, 92 hits, 85 blocked shots and 22 PIM over 66 appearances, all of which are career highs.

Pockets assist Thursday Korczak notched an assist, three shots on goal and three hits in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Bruins.

Impact Korczak has racked up six helpers over 16 games since he last scored a goal. He's mostly seen top-four minutes lately, but with Shea Theodore now healthy and Rasmus Andersson set to make his Vegas debut Friday versus Toronto, Korczak could slip into a less prominent role. He's done well to post a career-high 12 points with 47 shots on net, 76 hits, 71 blocked shots, 16 PIM and a plus-8 rating over 49 appearances so far, but the impending drop in ice time makes him too risky for standard fantasy formats.

Provides pair of assists Korczak recorded two assists in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

Impact Korczak earned his first multi-point effort of the season Tuesday. He helped out on goals by Mark Stone and Reilly Smith. The defenseman is warming up on offense with a goal and four helpers over his last seven outings, and he should continue to be in a position to succeed throughout Shea Theodore's (upper body) absence. Korczak has eight points, 29 shots on net, 53 hits, 55 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating across 35 appearances.

Tallies in loss Korczak scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Flames.

Impact Korczak has a goal and two assists over his last five outings. The defenseman is getting more ice time in the absence of Shea Theodore (upper body), though that doesn't include a power-play role yet. Korczak is now at three goals, six points, 28 shots, 52 hits, 53 blocked shots, 16 PIM and a plus-8 rating over 33 appearances this season. He's on track for a career year after putting up 10 points in 40 outings a season ago.

Picks up helper in shootout loss Korczak earned an assist in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Islanders.

Impact Korczak snapped his 14-game point drought by setting up a Mitch Marner tally in the first period. The 24-year-old Korczak has maintained a bottom-four role this year and should be unchallenged for his spot in the lineup while Jeremy Lauzon (undisclosed) remains out. Through 29 contests, Korczak has two goals, two assists, 23 shots on net, 48 hits, 45 blocked shots, 16 PIM and a plus-7 rating through 29 appearances.
