Impact Benn compiled 26 goals and 137 points in 607 regular-season appearances with Dallas, Montreal, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Minnesota and Toronto during his NHL career. The 37-year-old blueliner spent the 2023-24 campaign with Brynas IF of Sweden's HockeyAllsvenskan, earning three goals and 19 assists in 39 regular-season appearances before adding seven points in 13 playoff contests.

Signs in Sweden Benn has signed a one-year contract with Swedish team Brynas IF in the Allsvenskan League on Saturday, 100 Degree Hockey reports.

Impact Benn was released from his professional tryout by the Stars on Sunday. The 12-year NHL veteran defenseman, had a goal and an assist in 12 games with the Maple Leafs last season.

Impact Benn spent last season in the Toronto organization, compiling two points in 12 games at the NHL level and six points in 23 outings with the AHL club. The 36-year-old defenseman made his NHL debut with the Stars in 2011-12. Should Benn get a full contract with Dallas, it'd likely be a two-way deal, and his path to the NHL roster is crowded by a number of younger blueliners.

Impact Benn has a goal and two points in 12 games with the Maple Leafs this season. If he clears waivers, he'll probably be reassigned to the AHL's Marlies where he's recorded a goal and an assist in four contests in 2022-23.
