Set to start in Game 1
Andersen will be between the home pipes in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Golden Knights on Tuesday, per Jesse Granger of The Athletic.
Impact
Andersen has been phenomenal throughout the postseason -- he's allowed two or fewer goals in 12 of 13 games during the Hurricanes' run through the Eastern Conference bracket. The veteran netminder will have his toughest test yet, however, as the Golden Knights rank second in playoff scoring with 3.63 goals per game. The Hurricanes have been good at limiting shots against per game, though, with an average of 22.3 being tied for first in the 2026 postseason. Aside from Vegas missing Jeremy Lauzon (upper body), injuries don't appear to be much of a factor for both teams heading into Game 1 on Tuesday, which only adds to the intrigue of this series.

Steady again to clinch series
Andersen stopped 23 of 24 shots in Friday's 6-1 win over the Canadiens in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Impact
Andersen was working on a second straight shutout, but Cole Caufield spoiled it midway through the third period. After allowing five goals in Game 1, Andersen gave up just five more tallies over the next four contests to send the Hurricanes to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 2006. The 36-year-old has a 12-1 record with a 1.41 GAA and a .931 save percentage over 13 playoff outings. Andersen is poised to continue in the starting role as the Hurricanes face the Golden Knights, which begins with Game 1 on Tuesday in Carolina.

Tending twine in Game 5
Andersen will patrol the home crease in Friday's Game 5 against the Canadiens.
Impact
Andersen will look to make history in Game 5 by winning his 12th game of the postseason, which would mark a new career high. He's also chasing the claim to the second-most playoff wins among active goalies, needing just five more to move ahead of Florida's Sergei Bobrovsky. Across 12 starts this postseason, Andersen has been excellent with an 11-1-0 record, a 1.44 GAA and a .928 save percentage. The 36-year-old netminder is coming off his third shutout of the postseason after stopping all 18 shots on net in Game 4.

Earns shutout in Game 4
Andersen recorded an 18-save shutout in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Canadiens in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Impact
Andersen picked up his third shutout of this postseason. The Hurricanes' defense has been superb in this series, holding Montreal to less than 20 shots in each of the last three games, which makes Andersen's job that much easier. He's 11-1 with a 1.44 GAA and a .928 save percentage in 12 outings. Andersen is a virtual lock to start Game 5 at home Friday, with a win being all the Hurricanes need to book their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals versus the Golden Knights.

Set to start Wednesday
Andersen is expected to get the starting nod on the road against the Canadiens in Game 4 on Wednesday.
Impact
Andersen has suffered just one loss in the postseason, recording a 10-1 record and 1.56 GAA in his last 11 outings, though that defeat did come at the hands of the Habs in Game 1. Despite sharing the workload during the regular season, Andersen appeared in just 35 contests this year, he's cemented himself as the Canes' No. 1 in the playoffs.

Hangs on for OT win
Andersen made 11 saves Monday in the Hurricanes' 3-2 overtime win over the Canadiens in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Impact
Carolina continues to play stingy defense and limit chances against Andersen, and the veteran netminder had little chance on a Montreal power-play goal early in the second period that tied the game at 2-2. He shut the door the rest of the way, before Andrei Svechnikov found the OT winner. Andersen's 2.77 GAA and .804 save percentage in the ECF are alarming, but it's been good enough to get the 'Canes two wins away from the Stanley Cup Finals. He should be between the pipes again for Game 4 on Wednesday.

Slated to start Game 3
Andersen is expected to defend the road net in Game 3 against Montreal on Monday, per Peter Dewar and Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site.
Impact
Andersen had to make only 10 saves in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Canadiens in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. He has posted a 9-1 record this postseason with a 1.55 GAA and a .927 save percentage through 10 appearances. Montreal has registered a mere 24.1 shots per game in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs, yet has scored 51 goals over 16 contests.

Picks up overtime win Saturday
Andersen stopped 10 of 12 shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Canadiens in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Impact
Andersen again saw a fairly light workload, but he let in a pair of goals by Josh Anderson. Nikolaj Ehlers answered each of those tallies, including with the game-winner at 3:29 of overtime. Andersen has allowed seven goals on 33 shots over the first two games of this series against the Canadiens, but he's earned the right to keep the crease as long as things don't get out of hand. Game 3 is set for Monday in Montreal.
