Out with lower-body issue Svechkov sustained a lower-body injury and is week-to-week, Nick Kieser of 102.5 ESPN Nashville reports Tuesday.

Impact Svechkov is on a two-way contract and was almost certainly headed for AHL Milwaukee to start the season regardless of his lower-body problem. After making the jump to North America last season, the 21-year-old center put together a solid year with the Admirals, racking up 16 goals and 23 assists in 57 regular-season contests before adding another 12 points in 15 postseason clashes. Once given the all-clear, look for Svechkov to be reassigned to the minors, though he could certainly make his NHL debut at some point this year.

Dropped to AHL Svechkov was reassigned to AHL Milwaukee on Sunday.

Impact Svechkov is getting his first taste of North American hockey after spending the last two years in the KHL. He totaled four points in 31 games during those two seasons. The 20-year-old forward was the 19th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft and could make his NHL debut at some point this season.

Inks entry-level contract Svechkov signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Nashville on Friday.

Impact Svechkov was selected 19th overall in the 2021 Draft and spent last season with Moscow Spartak of the KHL. He had two goals and four points in 27 games. Svechkov also saw action this season in the VHL -- the Russian equivalent of the AHL -- where he had five goals and seven points in nine playoff games. Svechkov projects to be a middle-six forward with the Predators.
