Pots goal Saturday Fabbro scored a goal, blocked three shots and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-4 shootout win over the Hurricanes.

Impact Fabbro is up to two goals and two assists over six appearances since the Blue Jackets claimed him off waivers from the Predators. The 26-year-old defenseman has been able to hold a top-four role in Columbus after being a frequent scratch in Nashville. Those four points account for all of his offense through 12 outings this season, and he's added 17 shots on net, 10 hits, 17 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating. Fabbro has at least short-term appeal in fantasy, especially with a fairly favorable run of opponents over the next 10 days (Montreal, Chicago and Calgary twice).

Pots first goal for Columbus Fabbro scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Canadiens.

Impact The former Predator ruined Sam Montembeault's shutout bid midway through the second period, blasting a shot from the point through heavy traffic, but it was all the offense the Jackets could muster. Fabbro has two points in three games since joining Columbus on waivers, and he even saw some power-play shifts Saturday as he gets a look as Zach Werenski's partner on the blue line.

Claimed by Columbus Fabbro was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jackets, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Impact Fabbro will get another chance in the NHL after he was waived by Nashville on Saturday. The 26-year-old blueliner failed to record a point in six games with the Preds this season after logging 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) last year. Fabbro figures to step into a top-four role in Columbus.

On waivers Fabbro was put on waivers by the Predators on Saturday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Impact Fabbro was selected with the No. 17 overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, and for a time it looked like he had successfully established himself as a part of the Predators' blue line, recording 24 points in 66 regular-season outings in 2021-22 followed by 11 points, 50 PIM, 113 hits and 129 blocks across 79 regular-season appearances in 2022-23. However, he logged just 56 regular-season games last campaign, and the 26-year-old has dipped even more this year. He has no points, a minus-3 rating, one hit and seven blocks across six outings in 2024-25 while averaging just 13:06 of ice time. The defenseman has also been a healthy scratch in each of the Predators' past five games. Given his $2.5 million cap hit, Fabbro will likely go unclaimed and subsequently be reassigned to the AHL Milwaukee.

Struggling to stay in lineup Fabbro was scratched for the fourth time in the Predators' first 10 games when he sat out Thursday versus the Oilers.

Impact Fabbro is often listed on the top pairing, but he's exceeded 15 minutes of ice time in just two of his six appearances. He's added seven shots on net, a minus-3 rating and seven blocked shots, but he's yet to record a point. Fabbro is competing with Marc Del Gaizo for the last spot on the blue line.

MARCH 12, 2024 • Associated Press

Sidelined for three weeks Fabbro (upper body) will miss two or three weeks after leaving Sunday's game against Minnesota.

Impact Fabbro has played in 53 games for the Predators this year, recording two goals and 10 assists. The 25-year-old will look to be back in time for the playoffs as the Predators currently hold the number one wild card spot. He will be a valuable defensive piece come playoff time as he's recorded 43 hits and 83 blocked shots.

Injured Sunday Fabbro (upper body) will not return to Sunday's game against the Wild.

Impact Fabbro blocked two shots in 3:28 of ice time prior to leaving the contest. The 25-year-old has two points with a plus-9 rating over his last 12 games. An update on his status should be available before Wednesday's matchup against the Jets.

MARCH 10, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Agrees to one-year contract Fabbro signed a one-year contract extension with the Predators on Friday, per Predators Radio Host Max Herz.

Impact Fabbro has two goals, 12 points, 43 hits and 79 blocks in 51 outings in 2023-24. He was eligible to become a restricted free agent with arbitration rights this summer, but this signing will allow Nashville to avoid that outcome.

Supplies pair of assists Fabbro notched two assists, two hits, two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Ducks.

Impact Fabbro snapped a five-game point drought with the pair of helpers. Sunday's effort doubled his point total in 2024. The 25-year-old defenseman has two goals, 10 helpers, 51 shots on net, 43 hits, 71 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating through 46 appearances. Fabbro has exceeded the 11 points he recorded in 79 outings a season ago, but he's only worth streaming in DFS when he's paired with Roman Josi.

FEBRUARY 26, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Gets rare start Saturday Fabbro returned from a three-game stint as a healthy scratch in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Blues, but failed to crack the scoresheet in 17:09 of ice time.

Impact Fabbro's presence in the lineup is too unpredictable these days to be able to count on him for fantasy production. Throw in his low scoring totals (2G, 8A in 42 games), and it's really hard to recommend him outside of very deep leagues. The 25-year-old defender posted a career-best 24 points two seasons ago, but it's difficult to imagine him getting back to that level anytime soon.

FEBRUARY 18, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Nabs assist in shootout win Fabbro produced an assist in Saturday's 3-2 shootout win over the Capitals.

Impact Fabbro had gone four games without a point, and he has just three helpers over 10 outings in December. The 25-year-old has found steadier playing time with Tyson Barrie (upper body) unavailable since the holiday break ended. Fabbro should be able to hold onto a third-pairing role for a while. He's at eight points, 31 shots on net, 21 hits, 43 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 28 appearances -- that's not enough offense to create much intrigue in fantasy.

DECEMBER 31, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

Scoring woes continue Fabbro failed to crack the scoresheet in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers, his third game back in the lineup following a three-game absence as a healthy scratch.

Impact Fabbro recorded a career-high 24 points two seasons ago with the Preds, but took a step back last season with just 11 points in 79 games. Currently with just five points in 19 games this season, Fabbro doesn't move the fantasy needle enough to warrant much consideration outside of ultra-deep leagues.

DECEMBER 3, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

One of each in loss Fabbro scored a goal and an assist on two shots in the Predators' 7-5 loss to the Coyotes on Saturday.

Impact Fabbro scored off a one-timer in the slot to give the Predators a 3-2 lead. He would also add an assist on Filip Forsberg's second goal. Fabbro had been struggling offensively before Saturday's game, scoring just two points in his first 12 games. Saturday's performance snaps a four-game pointless drought as he picks up his first points in November. Fabbro should continue to see minutes on the top defensive pairing.

Deposits goal in loss Fabbro scored a goal in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Canucks.

Impact Fabbro put the Predators ahead 2-1 just 30 seconds after Colton Sissons tied the game in the first period. The goal was Fabbro's second point of the campaign. The 25-year-old has seen steady run in the lineup with the absence of Luke Schenn (lower body). Fabbro has eight shots on net, nine hits, 17 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating while seeing top-four minutes at even strength.

Back on scoresheet Fabbro delivered an assist and three blocked shots in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Sharks.

Impact Fabbro is situated in a top-four role early this season, but he lacks power-play utility as well as the type of offensive firepower that fantasy managers require. The helper was Fabbro's first point through five games, and the 2016 first-round draft pick is averaging just one shot per contest. He's asked to fill a defensive role while skating on a pairing with the highly productive Roman Josi, who dropped 155 points over the last two seasons alone.

Impact It was Fabbro's second marker and 11th point in 75 contests this season. He didn't record a point over his previous four outings, though he did have five shots, eight hits and nine blocks in that span. Fabbro also had three hits and three blocks Thursday, bringing him up to 102 and 117, respectively. That's well above the 24-year-old's previous career highs of 69 hits and 105 blocks, which he set in 2021-22.
