Carolina hosts Detroit after the Hurricanes shut out Florida 3-0

Pockets assist Tuesday Djoos produced an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Predators.

Impact Djoos had the secondary helper on Adam Erne's third-period goal. The 26-year-old Djoos has collected four helpers in his last six games. He sometimes exits the lineup if the Red Wings only deploy six defensemen. For the season, the Swede has notched 10 points, 36 shots on net and a minus-8 rating through 33 appearances.

Back on board with helper Djoos managed an assist Sunday in a 4-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

Impact Djoos simply dumped the puck off to Darren Helm in his own end, but the originating sequence culminated in an Evgeny Svechnikov tally to open the scoring in the contest. Djoos doesn't play enough to warrant fantasy consideration in season-long leagues, but he does have three goals and two assists through eight contests to make for an interesting streaming option in DFS formats.

Impact Djoos set up Bobby Ryan's tally in the first period, which was all the Red Wings could muster against Juuse Saros. The 26-year-old Djoos was back in the lineup after sitting two games as a healthy scratch. He could see more playing time going forward since Marc Staal (upper body) couldn't finish Thursday's game. Djoos has seven points, 31 shots on net, 21 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating in 28 contests.

Impact The Red Wings were shut out at home against the Stars last Saturday, and it was the same outcome facing the Predators in Nashville on Tuesday when the Original Six club played seven defensemen. Perhaps Djoos -- who has two goals and four assists through 27 games -- would have made a difference from an offensive standpoint, but then again, he was only averaging 9:04 of ice time in two games leading up to his pair of absences from the lineup. Check his status ahead of Thursday's grudge match with the Preds.
