Ruled out for Olympics Point (lower body) has been ruled out of the upcoming Olympics for Team Canada, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports Thursday.

Impact Point is on long-term injured reserve and hasn't played for the Lightning since Jan. 12 due to his lower-body injury. His status for the Olympics was up in the air, but he'll ultimately be held out and replaced by Seth Jarvis. His next opportunity to suit up for Tampa Bay will be Feb. 25 against Toronto, but it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to do so.

Impact Point last played Jan. 12 versus the Flyers. He is required to be out for 10 games and 24 days. He will complete the first requirement Tuesday versus the Sabres, but he's already been ruled out for the Lightning up to the Olympic break. Point is still a possibility to play for Team Canada at the Olympics, though it remains what the national team is planning to do in regards to his status.

Impact Immediately after Point scored a goal on the power play during the middle frame, Cam York fell onto Point's right leg, per Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com. Point wasn't able to leave the ice under his own power and ultimately did not return to the game. The Lightning will play in the second half of a back-to-back Tuesday in Pittsburgh, so given the quick turnaround, Point should not be expected to be available for that matchup. It's a possibility the right-shot center will return to Tampa Bay in the near future to be fully evaluated. The Lightning's current road trip concludes Sunday in Dallas.
