Cut loose from PTO The Rangers released Sustr on Monday from his professional tryout agreement, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.

Impact Sustr had four points in 16 regular-season appearances with HC Dynamo Pardubice of the Czech Extraliga before finishing the year with Tappara of Finland's Liiga, where he posted one goal and 11 assists in 38 regular-season outings. If he doesn't receive another opportunity in North America, he could return to Europe for the 2025-26 campaign.

Joining Blueshirts Sustr agreed to terms on a professional tryout agreement with the Rangers on Friday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.

Impact Sustr hasn't played in an NHL game since 2021-22 when he was with the Lightning. Playing overseas last year, the veteran blueliner notched 12 points in 38 regular-season games for Tappara Tampere before being blanked in eight postseason contests. If Sustr makes the Rangers' Opening Night roster, it will likely be as a seventh defenseman, meaning he'll probably spend more time in the press box as a healthy scratch than on the ice.

Rights sent to San Jose Sustr was traded from the Ducks to the Sharks on Tuesday in exchange for Andrew Agozzino.

Impact Sustr didn't see any NHL action between the Wild and the Ducks' organization in 2022-23, and he combined for 14 points in 51 games between the two teams' AHL affiliates. He'll be out of contract Saturday, so it's unclear if he'll ever suit up for the Sharks. If he gets to free agency, there's a chance he heads to Europe if interest is light in North America.

Impact Sustr was acquired by Anaheim from Minnesota on March 3. He has three goals and 14 points in 46 AHL contests this season with Iowa and San Diego. He hasn't played at the top level in 2022-23, but the 32-year-old defenseman has 11 goals, 69 points and 163 PIM in 361 career NHL games.
