Motivated heading into 2026-27 Bump said Friday that he enters training camp with a "chip on [his] shoulder" following his performance during camp last year, Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports reports.

Impact Bump began last season in the AHL after underwhelming during training camp, but he made his NHL debut late in the regular season and recorded five goals, four assists, 16 hits, seven blocked shots and two PIM while averaging 12:38 of ice time. The 2-year-old seems likely to make the Flyers' Opening Night roster for the 2026-27 campaign, but he's still motivated to make an impression during camp to make up for last year.

Gets second goal of postseason Bump scored a goal in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Hurricanes in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Second Round.

Impact Bump's goal tied the game 2-2 in the third period. It was his second of the postseason; his first came in his playoff debut on Oct. 27 against the Penguins. Bump was skating on the Flyers' top line with Owen Tippett out with an undisclosed injury. Like the Flyers other young players, Bump gained some valuable playoff experience in the four-game sweep by the Canes, which bodes well for the team's chances next season and beyond. It remains to be seen where the winger will eventually slot into the lineup, especially with young guys like Porter Martone stepping into the lineup so quickly and effectively.

Impact Bump had been a scratch for the previous two games, but he drew in after the Flyers made wholesale changes to the lineup following their clinching of a playoff spot Monday. The 22-year-old forward figures to be a part-time option at best in the playoffs. Bump has five goals, four assists, 23 shots on net, 16 hits and a plus-3 rating over 17 appearances this season.
