Impact After the Sharks stated that Barre-Boulet was day-to-day for an undisclosed injury Wednesday, the issue has been deemed to warrant a stint on IR. The 29-year-old forward was efficient with AHL Colorado in 2025-26, where he posted 26 goals and 70 points across 70 regular-season games. While he's expected to play primarily with AHL San Jose in 2026-27, the six-year veteran could play a couple of stints at the NHL level if the team's center depth experiences any injuries.

Impact Barre-Boulet recorded an assist and two hits during Monday's 5-2 win over the Capitals, but he had a team-low 3:46 of ice time. It was his first appearance in the NHL in 2025-26, but he'll link back up with the Eagles in short order.

Impact Barre-Boulet has 12 goals and 37 points in 36 outings with AHL Colorado in 2025-26. The Avalanche announced Valeri Nichushkin (upper body) would be a late scratch Monday versus Washington, so Barre-Boulet will likely draw into the lineup for his NHL season debut.

Three more assists Friday Barre-Boulet notched three assists in AHL Colorado's 5-4 shootout loss to San Diego on Friday.

Impact Barre-Boulet has logged four multi-point efforts during his nine-game point streak. He has a total of four goals and 12 assists in that span. For the season, the 28-year-old forward is up to 10 goals and 22 helpers through 31 outings. Given his recent success, it wouldn't be shocking for the Avalanche to give him a look at the NHL level while the big club is dealing with multiple forward injuries.

Impact Barre-Boulet is on a seven-game point streak, during which he has three goals and nine assists. Rattles off three points Barre-Boulet scored twice and added an assist in AHL Colorado's 6-1 win over Ontario on Saturday.

Impact Barre-Boulet continues to be steady for the Eagles with eight goals and 12 helpers over 24 appearances this season. He's a strong AHL scorer who has struggled to translate that to NHL success, and the Avalanche are healthy enough at forward to not have a need to call him up. The 28-year-old also didn't receive a promotion while the team was dealing with injuries, so he may struggle to get back to the NHL any time soon.

He's topped the 60-point mark in four of his eight campaigns in the AHL, and he could push for similar production this year. He's yet to show the same level of scoring in the NHL, and at 28 years old, he's unlikely to get a call-up unless the Avalanche face a rough stretch of injuries.

The 28-year-old has some NHL experience with 70 games over parts of five seasons, but he drew into just two contests for the Canadiens last year.
