Fox (upper body) was placed on long-term injured reserve Sunday, according to Dan Rosen of NHL.com.

He won't be eligible to return to the lineup until at least Dec. 27 against the Islanders due to his placement on long-term injured reserve. Exits Saturday's game
Fox left Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Lightning after sustaining an upper-body injury, per Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic.
Impact
Fox suffered the injury when he was struck into the boards by Tampa Bay's Brandon Hagel. The 27-year-old Fox had an assist in 16:27 of ice time before exiting the game. He's up to three goals and 26 points in 27 outings, including Saturday's action. If Fox misses time due to this injury, then Scott Morrow will probably draw into the lineup.

Collects three helpers in victory
Fox registered three assists in the Rangers' 6-2 win over Boston on Friday.
Impact
Fox extended his scoring streak to five games, giving him nine helpers over that span. Four of those assists have been recorded with the man advantage, including two of his three helpers Friday. Fox recorded at least 29 power-play points in three straight regular seasons from 2021-22 through 2023-24, but that dropped to 18 last year. He might rebound at least partially from that dip in 2025-26 -- Fox now has 25 points (three goals) in 26 outings this year, including eight power-play points.

Pair of helpers in win
Fox distributed two assists and blocked two shots in Monday's 3-2 win over St. Louis.
Impact
Fox tallied two secondary helpers with the latter coming on Adam Edstrom's go-ahead goal. With the apples, Fox is up to 18 assists, 21 points, 49 shots on goal and 40 blocks through 24 games this season. After taking a small step back last season, the 27-year-old defenseman is back up producing offense with the league's best back-end talent, and is tied for third in points among blueliners. He is an integral part of the team's offense both at even strength and with a man advantage, and his recent run of 17 blocks in his last nine games makes him one of the most well-rounded defenseman in all of fantasy so far this season.

Adds pair of helpers
Fox logged two power-play assists, two shots on net, two blocked shots and a minus-4 rating in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Avalanche.
Impact
Fox has earned seven helpers, including four on the power play, over his last six games. The 27-year-old blueliner helped out on both of J.T. Miller's goals in this contest. Fox is up to three goals, 15 helpers, six power-play points, 46 shots on net, 35 blocked shots, 13 hits, 10 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 22 appearances this season. He's not a highly physical defenseman, but Fox's offense is right in line with previous seasons, giving him a chance to challenge for the 70-point mark he fell short of last year.

Helps out on power play
Fox registered a power-play assist and placed four shots on net in Saturday's 2-1 shootout win over the Blue Jackets.
Impact
Fox chipped in with a secondary assist on a second-period power play for New York's lone goal of regulation. With the Rangers currently winners of their past three games, Fox has benefited with five assists in that stretch. Overall, the 27-year-old blueliner has 13 assists, 16 points and 40 shots on goal in 19 games this season. He is just one point behind Artemi Panarin for the team lead, with Fox's points more evenly spread throughout the first quarter of the season. He is tied for fourth among all NHL defenseman in points, and his ability to help spark the offense throughout the highs and lows makes him an elite fantasy option in all formats.

Two more helpers Wednesday
Fox picked up two assists, one on the power play, in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Lightning.
Impact
The star blueliner had a hand in Will Cuylle tallies that accounted for the Rangers' first and last goals of the night. Fox has gone 15 games without finding the back of the net himself, but he's produced multiple assists in two straight contests and four of the last eight. On the season, he's amassed three goals and 15 points in 18 games -- fourth among all NHL defensemen behind Cale Makar (23 points), Josh Morrissey and Miro Heiskanen (16 each).

Snags two assists Monday
Fox collected two assists in Monday's 6-3 win over Nashville.
Impact
Both helpers came in the first period, as Fox had a hand in tallies by Mika Zibanejad and Vladislav Gavrikov that gave the Rangers a 2-1 lead and boosted them toward their first win of the season at Madison Square Garden. Fox hasn't scored a goal himself since Oct. 11, but the blueliner has stayed busy with nine assists in the last 11 games despite the overall struggles of the team around him.
