Running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. speaks to the media Monday after the Giants' Week 9 loss to the Washington Commanders.

Gets 17 touches in Week 9 loss
Tracy (concussion) rushed 16 times for 66 yards and caught his only target for three yards in Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Commanders.
Impact
Tracy didn't have any limitations after clearing concussion protocol Friday, as the rookie running back's 16 rushing attempts marked the fourth-highest total of his young career. He worked as the clear lead back over Devin Singletary, who rushed seven times for 33 yards. Tracy has a juicy Week 10 matchup coming up against the Panthers in Munich, Germany.

Clears concussion protocol
Tracy cleared concussion protocol Friday and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Commanders, per Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site.
Impact
It's one of the faster recoveries we've seen from a concussion, with Tracy passing through the entire protocol just four days after entering it during the fourth quarter of Monday's 26-18 loss to the Steelers. He took 21 touches for 150 yards and a touchdown prior to his early exit, working as the Giants' lead back for a fourth straight week, including two games in a row that Devin Singletary also played.

Progressing through protocol
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said that Tracy (concussion) will be a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Tracy will don a red no-contact jersey during the session, but the running back appears to have advanced to the fourth phase of the five-step concussion protocol after not practicing in any fashion Wednesday, two days after he suffered a concussion late in Monday's loss to the Steelers. In order to make himself available for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Tracy will still need to be cleared for contact in addition to receiving clearance from an independent neurologist, but Daboll suggests that the rookie out of Purdue is "trending in the right direction" to play this weekend. After amassing 419 yards from scrimmage and scoring two touchdowns over the past four games, Tracy appears to have established himself as the Giants' lead back over Devin Singletary, who opened the season as the team's starter.

Listed as DNP
Tracy (concussion) is listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
Impact
Reporters saw Tracy working off to the side with the training stuff, which at least hints at some progress through concussion protocol just two days after suffering the injury. He nonetheless faces an uphill battle to be ready for Sunday's game against Washington just six days after being concussed late in the fourth quarter of a MNF loss at Pittsburgh. Prior to the injury, Tracy took 21 touches for 150 yards and a touchdown, while Devin Singletary finished the night with four touches for 23 yards.

Works on side field Wednesday
Tracy (concussion) is not practicing Wednesday but worked with trainers off to the side, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Bills head coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Tracy is in the "early stages" of the NFL's concussion protocol, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. The rookie fifth-round pick could have a chance to gain clearance in time for Sunday's divisional matchup against Washington, but in order to put himself on track for a tentative Week 9 return, Tracy will likely need to progress as far as non-contact practice activity Thursday. Devin Singletary will presumably start for the Giants if Tracy is forced to miss time.

Concussion confirmed
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Tuesday that Tracy is in the concussion protocol after suffering the brain injury in Monday's 26-18 loss to the Steelers, Pat Leonard of the New...
Impact
Tracy exited the contest with just over four minutes left in the fourth quarter after he appeared to slam his head on the field. The rookie didn't return for the Giants' final possession, with Daboll confirming that Tracy sustained a concussion on the play in question. After the Monday night game, the Giants will be facing a quick turnaround for Week 9 with a matchup with the Commanders on tap for Sunday, so Tracy could face an uphill battle to clear the five-step protocol. Tracy appears to have solidified himself as the Giants' lead back after carrying 20 times for 145 yards and a touchdown to go with two catches for five yards in the Week 8 loss, but if Tracy is unable to play against Washington, Devin Singletary would presumably step back in as the team's starter.

Exits to locker room
Tracy exited Monday's matchup with the Steelers late in the fourth quarter after suffering an apparent head injury, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Impact
Tracy likely went to he medical tent after getting hitting his head on the field to be checked for a concussion. He subsequently left for the locker room. The injury comes after a big night where he assumed RB1 duties for the Giants ahead of Devin Singletary. Tracy accumulated 145 rushing yards and one touchdown on 20 carries before exiting.

Returns Monday
Tracy (shoulder) returned to start the second half in Monday's matchup with the Steelers, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Impact
Tracy was shaken up towards the end of the first half and subsequently drew a questionable designation at halftime. However, he has gotten the green light to start the third quarter. The running back had seemingly taken the RB1 duties from Devin Singletary in the first half, recording nine carries to Singletary's one.

Questionable to return
Tracy is considered questionable to return to Monday's matchup with the Steelers due to a shoulder injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Impact
Tracy had 9 carries for 35 yards compared to Devin Singletary's one rush for seven yards prior to exiting. However, was shaken up late in the first half, and his return is questionable as a result. Singletary would presumably take on RB1 responsibilities should Tracy be unable to return.

Tough sledding in Sunday's loss
Tracy carried the ball six times for 23 yards and caught all three of his targets for nine yards in Sunday's 28-3 loss to the Eagles.
Impact
The Giants' run game went nowhere, but Tracy still led the team in rushing yards, with Devin Singletary (six touches for 21 total yards) being even less productive in his return from a groin strain. It's impossible to draw any conclusions on the New York backfield situation given the nature of Sunday's rout, but at the very least Tracy appears to still be in line for a timeshare role. However, the rookie may not find much more room to run in Week 8 against a tough Steelers defense.

Set to share with Singletary
Coach Brian Daboll said Friday that Tracy will "get plenty of playing time" even though Devin Singletary (groin) is returning for Sunday's game against Philadelphia, Jordan Raanan...
Impact
Tracy topped 100 total yards in back-to-back games in Singletary's absence, taking 35 carries for 179 yards (5.1 YPC) and a touchdown while catching seven of eight targets for 59 yards. Singletary doesn't have a Week 7 injury designation, but both he and Tracy make for risky fantasy plays given the possibility of a fairly even workload split. Daboll even said Eric Gray will also have a role, although it'll be surprising if Gray gets more than a few touches after taking a backseat to Tracy in Singletary's absence.

Takes advantage of start on SNF
Tracy rushed 17 times for 50 yards and a touchdown while bringing in all six of his targets for 57 receiving yards in Sunday's 17-7 loss to the Bengals.
Impact
Tracy got to fill in as New York's top running back for the second consecutive week after Devin Singletary (groin) was ruled out just over 24 hours prior to Sunday night's kickoff. The 24-year-old Tracy was up to the task against Cincinnati, breaking the century mark in total yardage while scoring the first touchdown of his career. This comes on the heels of the rookie's 129-yard breakout performance against Seattle in Week 5. It sounds like Singletary may be close to returning to the field based on his near return Sunday, which would only hurt Tracy's skyrocketing fantasy value. Until that happens, fantasy managers should make sure Tracy is rostered ahead of next Sunday's tilt against the Eagles.
