Denver Broncos fire special teams coach Ben Kotwica

Ben Kotwica is out after two years as Sean Payton's special teams coordinator in Denver

Bills' Ty Johnson Reflects On Big Playoff Outing Buffalo Bills running back Ty Johnson stepped up for the offense in the 31-7 win over the Denver Broncos.

Finds end zone in Sunday's win Johnson carried the ball nine times for 44 yards and caught both his targets for 26 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-7 wild-card round win over the Broncos.
Impact The 11 touches represented Johnson's biggest volume of the year, and he capped the performance with a sliding circus catch on a 24-yard TD late in the third quarter. The veteran depth RB's big day came about in part because Ray Davis left the game just after halftime with a concussion following a big hit from Brandon Jones. If Davis doesn't get cleared through the concussion protocol in time to suit up for a divisional-round clash with the Ravens next weekend, Johnson would be in line for a bigger role once again, albeit against a stingier opponent.

Josh Allen leads balanced offense as Bills dominate Broncos for 31-7 wild-card win

Three touches in loss Johnson rushed twice for 13 yards and caught one of his two targets for no gain in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Patriots.
Impact Johnson played 17 of the Bills' 67 offensive snaps in the contest, behind Ray Davis (35) and James Cook (15). With Buffalo already locked into the No. 2 seed before the game, the Bills chose to rest many of their key players for all or most of the contest. Johnson remained in his similar role, while the rookie Davis benefitted the most with expanded playing time. The veteran will continue to operate in a supporting role behind starter Cook when the Bills host the Broncos in the wild card round of the playoffs.
JANUARY 9, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Five touches against Jets Johnson rushed four times for 16 yards and caught his lone target for nine yards in Sunday's 40-14 win over the Jets.
Impact Johnson was mostly an afterthought in the Bills victory over the Jets, producing a modest 25 total yards in the contest. The veteran finished second in running back snaps (21), behind James Cook (32) and ahead of Ray Davis (16). Buffalo has clinched the No. 2 seed in the playoffs, so it's possible that head coach Sean McDermott could choose to rest his starters in the season finale. In that scenario, Johnson and Davis could both see an uptick in usage in place of Cook. The Bills will host the Patriots in Week 18.
DECEMBER 31, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Minmal production against Patriots Johnson rushed six times for 30 yards and failed to reel in his lone target in Sunday's 24-21 win over the Patriots.
Impact Johnson wasn't able to get much going Sunday despite leading all Bills running backs in playing time. The veteran handled 23 offensive snaps while James Cook and Ray Davis played 21 and 14 snaps, respectively. While Cook is the clear favorite for valuable running back touches in Buffalo's offense, Johnson remains an unreliable fantasy option heading into a Week 17 matchup against the Jets.
DECEMBER 25, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Leads team in receiving yardage Johnson rushed twice for nine yards and caught all five of his targets for 114 yards in Sunday's 48-42 win over the Lions.
Impact Johnson's 123 scrimmage yards were by far a season high for the running back. The veteran led the team in receiving yards and despite playing just 30 percent of the Bills' offensive snaps in the contest. Although he had an impressive performance against the Lions, Johnson's inconsistent usage and production make him difficult to trust for fantasy. Barring an injury to starter James Cook, Johnson should not be relied upon in the fantasy playoffs. The Bills will host the Patriots in Week 16.

Josh Allen has another huge game to lift Bills to a 48-42 victory that snaps Lions' winning streak

Josh Allen ran for two scores in the first quarter and threw two touchdown passes in the second half, leading the Buffalo Bills to a 48-42 win over the Detroit Lions
DECEMBER 16, 2024 • Associated Press
Hits pay dirt Johnson caught two of three targets for 55 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 44-42 loss to the Rams.
Impact Johnson failed to record a single carry in the contest despite playing the second most offensive snaps (21) at running back behind starter James Cook (27) and ahead of Ray Davis (13). Johnson's touchdown was his third receiving touchdown on the season, bringing him to four total scores through 13 games. Most of the 27-year-old's yardage total Sunday came on his touchdown, which was 41-yard pass from Josh Allen in the second quarter. Despite finding the end zone, Johnson holds little fantasy utility barring injuries to either Cook or Davis. The veteran will get his next chance to build off this performance when the Bills visit the Lions in Week 15.

Allen sets NFL mark with 3 TD passes and 3 TD runs, but Stafford's Rams hold off Bills 44-42

The Los Angeles Rams overcame Josh Allen’s record six-touchdown performance to snap the Buffalo Bills’ seven-game winning streak with a 44-42 victory
DECEMBER 9, 2024 • Associated Press
Six touches in win Johnson rushed five times for 28 yards and secured his lone target for nine yards in Sunday's 35-10 win over the 49ers.
Impact Johnson saw five opportunities on the ground for the second-straight game, but the veteran was unable to make much happen with his limited attempts. The 27-year-old played just 16 of the Bills' 58 offensive snaps, behind starter James Cook (26) and rookie Ray Davis (19). Barring injuries, Johnson should continue to be ignored for fantasy purposes as the Bills square off against the Rams in Week 14.
DECEMBER 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Limited production in win Johnson rushed five times for 18 yards and failed to secure his lone target in Sunday's 30-21 win over the Chiefs.
Impact Johnson played 33 of the Bills' 73 offensive snaps Sunday, ahead of both James Cook (27) and Ray Davis (15). Despite handling his largest snap share of the season, the veteran running back was unable to get much going. Going forward, Johnson will continue to operate in his depth role barring injuries to Cook and Davis, keeping him far off the fantasy radar as the Bills head into a Week 12 bye.
NOVEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Targeted three times in Week 10 Johnson caught all three of his targets for 32 yards in Sunday's 30-20 win over the Colts.
Impact Johnson failed to record a single rush in the contest. The Bills' No. 3 running back has now totaled just 17 rushing attempts for 99 yards and a score on the ground through 10 weeks, while playing behind teammates James Cook and Ray Davis. Johnson has also recorded eight catches for 97 yards and two touchdowns in Buffalo's passing game so far in 2024. With Cook and Davis both healthy, the 27-year-old Johnson doesn't hold much value for fantasy purposes. The Bills will host the Chiefs in Week 11.

Idaho hosts UC Davis following Johnson's 35-point game

NOVEMBER 7, 2024 • Associated Press
Hits pay dirt against Titans Johnson secured his lone target for a four-yard touchdown in Sunday's 34-10 win over the Titans.
Impact Johnson failed to record a single rushing attempt in the contest as he operated as the No. 3 running back behind teammates James Cook and Ray Davis. The 27-year-old's minimal usage coincided with Cook's return from a toe injury that sidelined him in Week 6. Assuming the Buffalo backfield is completely healthy, Johnson does not see enough touches to be in consideration for fantasy purposes. The Bills are set to visit the Seahawks in Week 8.

Fills backup role Monday Johnson rushed four times for 34 yards and was not targeted as a passer in Monday's 23-20 win over the Jets.
Impact Johnson was one of two candidates to replace starter James Cook's (toe) touches Monday, but it turned out to be fellow backup Ray Davis (152 combined yards on 23 touches) who benefited from a fantasy standpoint. The 26-year-old Johnson was worth a waiver add in Week 6, but given the touch distribution -- plus the potential for Cook to return -- make the backup running back a low-end fantasy option in Week 7. The Bills are set to host the Titans on Sunday.

Bills running back Cook out vs. Jets, who get back linebacker Mosley and offensive tackle Moses

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook is out against the New York Jets because of a toe injury
OCTOBER 14, 2024 • Associated Press
Low volume in Week 5 loss Johnson carried three times for 15 yards and was not targeted in the passing game in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Texans.
Impact Johnson was out there for a season high 36 percent of the offensive snaps, but with the Bills playing catch-up for most of the day, there wasn't much room for change-of-pace carries. Johnson remains ahead of Ray Davis in the pecking order behind starter James Cook, as Davis played only two offensive snaps Sunday. That said, the No. 2 spot in Buffalo is strictly an insurance or deep reserve play, as Cook is serving mostly as a bell-cow back and is even getting goal-line carries this season. Of the team's eight rushing touchdowns this season, Cook has four, Josh Allen has two, and Johnson and Davis have one apiece.
OCTOBER 7, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Hits pay dirt in win Johnson rushed three times for 18 yards and caught all three of his targets for 28 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 47-10 win over the Jaguars.
Impact Johnson ended up having his best statistical day of the young season Monday, seeing season highs in snap percentage (27), rushing yards (18), and targets (3). With that said, the veteran's statistics were not overly impressive and his increased usage was likely the result of what was a blowout over the Jaguars. Johnson's touchdown grab was his first trip to the end zone in 2024, yet he likely won't earn many scoring opportunities while Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby are healthy this season. Johnson remains off the fantasy radar as the Bills visit the Ravens in Week 4.
