Catches on with Gang Green The Jets signed Irwin to the practice squad Tuesday, Susanna Weir of the team's official site reports.
Impact The 29-year-old wideout out of Stanford was unable to make the Jaguars' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but he'll get another opportunity with the Jets on the practice squad. Irwin has appeared in 41 regular-season games since 2019 (23 of which came in 2023 and 2024 as a member of the Bengals) and has accumulated 46 catches (on 72 targets) for 601 yards and five touchdowns in his NFL career.

Signs with Jacksonville Irwin and the Jaguars agreed on a contract Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Impact Irwin will head to Jacksonville after spending the 2024 campaign with the Bengals and Panthers, reeling in three of 10 targets for 15 yards over seven games with Cincinnati. The wide receiver will look to impress this summer in order to potentially snag an active roster spot with the Jaguars in 2025.

Gets chance with Carolina The Panthers are signing Irwin to the practice squad Tuesday and plan to elevate him to the 53-man roster shortly, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact Irwin was waived by Cincinnati in Week 14, and he now earns a chance to continue his development in Carolina. The veteran wideout suited up for seven games with the Bengals this season, and in that time secured just three of 10 targets for 15 yards.

Assuming Irwin goes unclaimed, he'd be a likely candidate to return to the Bengals' practice squad.

Impact Irwin had frequently been a healthy inactive early this season, but he saw more opportunity when Tee Higgins was out with an injury Weeks 8 to 10. Impact Irwin remained involved in Cincinnati's offense in Week 2 with teammate Tee Higgins (hamstring) sidelined for the second-straight week. Though his six targets were the second-most of any Bengals pass catcher, the veteran wideout was unable to make the most of his opportunities. With Higgins trending in a positive direction, Irwin will likely see his share of targets dwindle as the season progresses. The 28-year-old will be extremely difficult to trust when the Bengals host the Commanders in Week 3.

Impact With teammate Tee Higgins (hamstring) out for the contest, Irwin was on the field for 65 percent of the Bengals' offensive snaps. The wideout's elevated usage, however, did not translate to much production. His two targets were behind both Ja'Marr Chase and Andrei Iosivas who both saw six targets. Going forward, Irwin will continue to be difficult to trust for fantasy purposes assuming Higgins can return quickly from his hamstring issue. The Bengals square off against the Chiefs in Week 2.

Impact While Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are entrenched as the Bengals' top two wideouts, Hobson suggests that the team could employ a committee approach behind the top duo. In addition to Irwin, Iosivas and Jones, 2024 third-rounder Jermaine Burton also should have a chance to enter the WR3 equation. On the team's initial posted unofficial depth chart, Irwin is listed behind Chase and Higgins, but that's presumably attributable to his status as a veteran. In any case, based on perceived upside and ADP, Burton and Iosivas appear to be next up on the radar of fantasy drafters in terms of Cincinnati wide receivers.
