Remains in Detroit Walker agreed to a three-year, $25 million contract with the Lions on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Impact Walker totaled 108 tackles, six pass deflections, one sack and one interception across 15 appearances last season. He finished the campaign with a bang, notching a career-high 14 tackles and an interception during a Week 18 win over the Packers. He'll stick with the franchise that drafted him in the third round of the 2018 Draft.

More importantly, he put a bow on a season that showed the Lions' new regime that Walker's "down" 2020 season was at least partly a product of the deficiencies of ex-head coach Matt Patricia. In fact, general manager Brad Holmes praised Walker's 2021 campaign during Tuesday's end-of-season press conference and went on to suggest that Detroit will make a strong effort to retain Walker in unrestricted free agency this offseason, per Justin Rogers of The Detroit News.
