The 28-year-old wideout has been on the team's practice squad for nearly a month, and he could have an immediate impact on offense since Michael Thomas (hamstring), Marquez Callaway (ankle) and Emmanuel Sanders (COVID-19) are all ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bears.

Lewis was let go by the Panthers via an injury settlement in early September, but the 27-year-old has since recovered from the issue and is now ready to give it another go with the Saints.

Reaches injury settlement The Panthers have waived Lewis (hamstring) from injured reserve after reaching an injury settlement, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Impact Lewis will become a free agent and can sign with another team as soon as he's deemed healthy. The 27-year-old wide receiver played seven games for the Saints last year and posted three receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown.

On top of that, he averaged 9.3 yards on 36 punt returns and 22.0 yards on 24 kick returns. After not playing a game last season, he was brought back to New Orleans via a reserve/future contract. Unfortunately for Lewis, he was cut loose as the Saints made moves to get to 80 players on the roster.
