Questionable, could be No. 2 QB
The Dolphins list Bridgewater (finger/knee) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Impact
Though Bridgewater appears on the Dolphins' Week 18 injury report with two health concerns, it's his dislocated right pinky finger that will be preventing him from picking up a second straight start this weekend, even though Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) remains sidelined. Because Bridgewater was unable to advance beyond limited participation in practice this week, head coach Mike McDaniel announced Friday that third-string quarterback Skylar Thompson will direct the offense Sunday with a playoff spot on the line. According to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com, McDaniel said Bridgewater may still be active as Thompson's backup after making "unbelievable" progress throughout the week, but the veteran signal-caller's status won't be confirmed one way or the other until Miami releases its inactive list 90 minutes before Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff.

Will be backup Week 18, if active
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Bridgewater (finger/knee) has a chance to be active Sunday against the Jets, but he would be available only in a backup capacity behind start...
Impact
McDaniel confirmed that Thompson will draw his second start of the season Week 18 with Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) ruled out and with Bridgewater having been limited in practice this week while he recovers from a dislocated pinky finger on his throwing hand. Bridgewater has reportedly made substantial progress in his recovery, but he clearly isn't 100 percent healthy, given that he almost certainly have gotten the starting nod over Thompson for this must-win game if that were the case. If Bridgewater isn't cleared to handle the backup role, the Dolphins will likely elevate Mike Glennon from the practice squad to serve as Thompson's understudy.

Remains limited in practice
Bridgewater (finger/knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Impact
Though Bridgewater's limited listing doesn't represent any change from Wednesday, observers during the media-access portion of Thursday's session suggested the quarterback was able to do more than he did a day ago. Most notably, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post relays that Bridgewater was throwing the football significantly farther than he did Wednesday, indicating that the veteran signal-caller is still in play for the starting assignment Sunday against the Jets with head coach Mike McDaniel having all but ruled Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) from returning to the lineup Week 18. The Dolphins will likely wait until after Friday's practice to decide whether Bridgwater or rookie Skylar Thompson will get the starting nod this weekend.

Listed as limited
Bridgewater (finger) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact
While he technically did enough to be listed as limited, Bridgewater's dislocated right pinky finger reportedly prevented him from throwing, which meant Skylar Thompson led the first-team offense in practice. With Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) considered unlikely to play, Bridgewater could end up starting Sunday's must-win game against the Jets if his injured hand improves by the end of the week.

Status hinges on gripping ability

Impact
The Dolphins are proceeding with Bridgewater and Skylar Thompson as their options at quarterback this week with a playoff spot at stake, as head coach Mike McDaniel has already dismissed the possibility of Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) starting Sunday even if the signal-caller clears the five-step protocol before the weekend. When healthy, Bridgewater has worked ahead of Thompson, but before being handed another starting nod, Bridgewater will need to prove during practices Wednesday through Friday that his finger injury isn't an issue. If Bridgewater fails to make enough progress as the week rolls along and isn't fit to start or dress as Thompson's backup, the Dolphins will likely elevate recent practice-squad signee Mike Glennon to step in as the understudy to Thompson.

Diagnosed with dislocated pinkie
Head coach Mike McDaniel said Monday that Bridgewater has a dislocated pinkie finger on his right hand, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Impact
McDaniel added that there should be more clarity on the quarterback's status Wednesday, but the coach did say he was preparing as if Bridgewater and Skylar Thompson would be his top options heading into the regular-season finale against the Jets, suggesting Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) will be sidelined for a second straight game. Fantasy mangers will have to monitor Bridgewater's status closely during Week 18 prep, but a decision on who'll start against the Jets may not come until Sunday.

Broken finger likely
Bridgewater likely sustained a broken finger on his right hand during Sunday's loss at Miami, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact
With Tua Tagovailoa out indefinitely due to a concussion, Bridgewater got the start at quarterback for the Dolphins on Sunday, completing 12 of 19 passes for 161 yards, one touchdown and one interception while gaining six yards on his only carry before his exit in the second half. It's unclear if Bridgewater will be able to play through the injury, but Skylar Thompson is on hand in the event the former joins Tagovailoa on the sideline.
