Not practicing Wednesday
Lotulelei didn't practice Wednesday due to a groin injury, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Impact
Lotulelei was inactive for the season opener with a calf injury, but he was able to suit up for Week 2 and played 29 snaps. However, he appears to have picked up a groin injury during the contest that will be worth monitoring ahead of Sunday's contest against Washington. If he is unable to play this weekend, expect Harrison Phillips, who logged 21 snaps during Week 1, to replace Lotulelei on the interior of the Bills' defensive line.

Back in action
Lotulelei (calf) is active Week 2 against Miami.
Impact
Lotulelei was inactive Week 1 and limited in practice to begin this week, but took a turn for the better with a full session Friday. He'll provide a boost to the run-stopping ability of the Buffalo defensive front, though his historic tackle total hasn't been high enough to warrant much consideration in most IDP formats.

Full participant in practice
Lotulelei (calf) was a full participant in practice Friday and is considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Impact
Lotulelei's chances of playing in Week 2 started the week off slim as he was a limited participant in practice Wednesday. Since then, the defensive tackle has shown a lot of progress and appears on track to play Sunday. A final update on the veteran's status should be provided ahead of Sunday's matchup.

Has good practice Thursday
Coach Sean McDermott said Lotulelei (calf) did a good job in practice Thursday and is listed as questionable for Sunday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Impact
Lotulelei sat out Week 1, but he appears to be progressing well ahead of Week 2. The 31-year-old is still expected to be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with the Dolphins. If he is unable to suit up, expect Harrison Phillips to receive plenty of extra snaps against Miami.

Limited participant in practice
Lotulelei (calf) was listed as a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Impact
After sitting out of the Week 1 loss to the Steelers with a calf injury, Lotulelei was expecting to be ready for the Week 2 battle against the Dolphins. The veteran has been limited in practice all week so far, and he will likely be listed as questionable up until game time Sunday. If Lotulelei is unable to play again, expect Harrison Phillips to receive plenty of action against Miami.

Will miss Week 1
Lotulelei (calf) is expected to miss Sunday's season opener against the Steelers, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Impact
Lotulelei was slated for a big role with the Bills' defense as he was expected to fill the team's hole at defensive tackle. Now that the big lineman is out for Week 1, it's likely Ed Oliver and Harrison Phillips will fill in for Lotulelei. The 31-year-old will look to return to the field for the Bills in Week 2 against the Dolphins.

No sure thing for Week 1
Lotulelei missed practice for the second straight day Wednesday due to a calf injury, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Coach Sean McDermott recently expressed optimism that Lotulelei would be able to play Sunday against the Steelers, but we imagine the big tackle will have to practice Thursday or Friday for that to be a real consideration. It'd be a bummer for the Bills if he did have to sit out Week 1, as one of the very few week points the team had during a fantastic 2020 season was an ability to clog up the middle, a strongpoint of Lotulelei that was missing after he opted out of the campaign.

Misses back-to-back practices
Lotulelei has missed practice the past two days due to a calf injury, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
Impact
The big interior lineman still has some time to get healthy ahead of the season opener Sept. 12 vs. the Steelers, when he's expected to help the defense better clog the middle after sitting out the 2020 season due to COVID concerns.

Moves to COVID list
Lotulelei (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday.
Impact
It's unclear whether Lotulelei tested positive for the virus or if he's a close contact, but he'll step away from the team regardless until he clears the health and safety protocols. The 31-year-old opted out of the 2020 campaign but is returning to action for this season.
