Aaron Banks - Ruled out for Week 14 Banks (concussion) was downgraded to out Saturday ahead of Sunday's battle against the Bears, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Impact Banks didn't practice at all this week, which suggests that he hasn't cleared the NFL's five-step concussion protocol. Sunday will mark his second consecutive missed contest. Ben Bartch will likely make another start at left guard in Banks' stead Sunday.

Ke'Shawn Vaughn - Elevated for Week 14 The 49ers elevated Vaughn from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Impact Vaughn was signed to the 49ers' practice squad Monday due to Christian McCaffrey (knee) and Jordan Mason (ankle) both being placed on injured reserve. Vaughn will be the Niners' No. 4 running back behind Isaac Guerendo, Patrick Taylor and Israel Abanikanda for Sunday's game against the Bears. Vaughn appeared in six regular-season games for the Buccaneers in 2023 and logged 24 carries for 42 yards while adding two catches for two yards.

George Odum - Placed on IR due to knee injury The 49ers placed Odum (knee) on injured reserve Saturday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Impact Odum popped up on Thursday's injury report due to a knee injury, and it appears serious enough to warrant a multi-game absence. He'll be required to miss at least the next four regular-season games, making Week 18 against the Cardinals on Sunday, Jan. 5 the earliest he could return. Tashaun Gipson and Malik Mustapha will serve as the 49ers' backup safeties behind Ji'Ayir Brown and Talanoa Hufanga (wrist) due to Odum's injury.

Talanoa Hufanga - Activated off IR The 49ers Matt Barrows of The Athletic Hufanga (wrist) from injured reserve Saturday, Matt reports.
Impact Hufanga was sidelined for the 49ers' last seven games due to a right wrist injury. He was a limited practice participant all week, and while he's still listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears, Hufanga's activation from IR indicates he should be available to play.

Nick Bosa - Ruled out for Week 14 Bosa (oblique) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bears, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Impact Bosa was unable to practice this week due to a left oblique injury, and he is set to miss his third straight game. Given the 49ers' have a short turnaround before their next game against the Rams on Thursday, Dec. 12, it's possible Bosa could be sidelined for a fourth game. Robert Beal and Yetur Gross-Matos will continue to see more defensive snaps due to Bosa's injury.

Jordan Mason - Now officially on IR Mason (ankle) was officially placed on injured reserve Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact It was announced earlier in the week Mason would be placed on injured reserve, but the team waited to officially make that move until the end of the week. Isaac Guerendo will get the first crack at filling in for both Mason and Christian McCaffrey (knee), who was also placed on injured reserve following his Week 13 injury, but pass-catching specialist Patrick Taylor also figures to have some role too. San Francisco plucked a couple of known names to at minimum operate as depth given the myriad of injuries to its running backs, with Israel Abanikanda and practice-squad callup Ke'Shawn Vaughn joining the team earlier this week.

Trent Williams - Ruled out for Week 14 Williams (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus Chicago.
Impact Williams will miss his third straight contest after again missing practice all week. He's also dealing with a family tragedy on top of the injury. Jaylon Moore will get another start at left tackle for San Francisco.

Impact Lenoir missed last Sunday night's loss to the Bills but appears ready to return after a one-week absence. The Niners' top slot cornerback, Lenoir should see plenty of Keenan Allen in this matchup.

Impact In the wake of the 49ers' Week 13 loss at Buffalo, the 49ers lost their top two running backs for the foreseeable future: Christian McCaffrey suffered a PCL injury in his right knee and was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, while Mason was expected to join him on IR due to a high-ankle sprain. The transaction for Mason has yet to be made but likely will happen by Saturday afternoon. With both players out Sunday, Isaac Guerendo is in line to lead San Francisco's backfield, while Patrick Taylor, Israel Abanikanda and practice-squad member Ke'Shawn Vaughn are the candidates to fill in behind him.
